Very hard to cut but very cute
Ok this is the cutest medallion I've found most anywhere for the price, but holy moly was it hard to cut out the middle. First I tried a utility knife-- the blade was way too short, as the medallion styrofoam is pretty thick. Then, I tried a jigsaw-- since I couldn't clamp the medallion down (I didn't want it to leave impressions in the Styrofoam), it definitely didn't work. So, I resorted to a kitchen knife. Tbh I thought I was for sure going to ruin it and I have no idea how I didn't! Definitely luck. There were definitely still impressions made in the medallion since I was handling it so much, but you can't really tell since it's a little distance away on the ceiling. I really wish this weren't styrofoam. Even with all of this being said, I LOVE the way it looks and I would get it again-- I just wish I had a warning about how hard it would be/how carefully to be with it! As long as you know this ahead of time and you're up to the task, go for it!
