My blendtec is 11 years old and about a year ago, the included wildside jar started to make a horrible noise when running, then started spitting black plastic into my smoothies. I found out that the black plastic/rubber housing around the blade on the original jars is known for going bad (surprising mine lasted as long as it did) so I finally ordered this replacement as it is much cheaper than a brand new commercial-style blender. I am happy to say that they have changed the design and it looks like this one will last as long- if not longer. I will update this review if anything happens along my daily usage schedule.

I accidently left a metal spoon in the blendtec which wrecked the original Wild Side container. I got a replacement as listed on the Amazon site. It works well and is even larger than the original as it is more of the commercial size. The lid that came with the replacement is different from the original but I can still use the old id with the new container without any problems. In all I will always check before turning on the blender and the replacement works well. Would recommend this to anyone who needs a replacement.

This new jar for my great Blendtec Blender was needed after thousands of cycles on the old one. Works very good, Wildeside 5 sided jar works very well. My only complaint is the cost of these things... I could buy a cheap Ninja for the cost of this plastic jar! I guess you pay for quality!
