Oresama continues the fun mix of off the wall humor and action as Mafuyu faces a serious direct threat from the student body president Hanabusa and will have to deal with a startling betrayal.In Volume 16, we learn more about Komari Yukioka, the silent girl who learns to open up and let her 'dirty old man' out into the open. Meanwhile, student body president Hanabusa has set machinations into place translating into a forward frontal assault on professor Saeki (and by relation, Mafuyu and the Public Morals Club). Club members are suddenly quitting and Mafuyu receives a threatening letter herself. With membership dropping, she may no longer have a club at all - and Saeki may lose the bet that earns him his grandfather's school. A staggering betrayal by one of the guys Mafuyu trusts will put the group in serious trouble!This was a cute volume (no Natsuo or Super Bun, though!!) with some interesting revelations about the greatest weaknesses of each character. As well, Saeki is forced to get more involved and can't take his laissez faire attitude or he risks losing the club altogether.Oresama Teacher continues to be wild fun without cloying romances or angst. You really have to love Mafuyu and Hayasaka and the whole crazy gang. I have to admit, though, I read each volume for more Saeki to see what machiavellian master stroke he will come up with to answer each threat (and how poor Mafuyu and the group will end up being played).Received as an ARC from the publisher.
