An added advantage is the ability to examine which seeds your birds enjoy or crave at different times. It cuts down on the seed chaff tossed by birds in search of seed. It fits most standard openings too. The only drawback is you must unscrew the feeder from the cage in order to check for chaff build up ever few months, but definitely better than most bird feeders.

Ideal for a cockatiel that jumps up and down in his food tray and splatters the seeds all over the place until its empty. .He must think it's funny. He had a big tube feeder on the cage for 4 years and about 6 month ago he got brave., as soon as a I would fill it up he would stomp on it until the seeds were on the ground.This new feeder tray eliminates all of that mess because he can not put his claws in it. At first he was not impressed with the new gadget. I had to put his favorite treat there so he would at least sit at the opening. He figured it out and after a few days he acted like it had always been there. It is easily refillable from the top with the removable lid and it has a small tray right on the bottom to catch the crumbs. Seeing that ensured me that he was eating. I can only recommend this item for anyone that has a fistful of feathers with an attitude living in the house.

They’re very small I thought they were larger. I should’ve looked at the measurements and I didn’t. I would like a refund please

It's very convenient for the budgies, but my Conure has already figured out how to open the top and the bottom, as there is no locking mechanism. I fastened a weight to the top using zip-ties, but I'm having trouble securing the bottom tray. If you have a bird that can figure out how to get it open, you're going to be cleaning up messes.

The screw is a little short and the bird feeder needs a little bit more open inside the food so it can come out more

So much easier to fill and keep stocked over the standard cage feeders. Doesn't completely contain the spent seeds, but significantly cuts back the mess. A definite positive purchase.
