Paint Landscapes in Acrylic with Lee Hammond

Good basic instructions and more detailed information. Nice pictures - for the beginner or more seasoned painter

I have some experience painting landscapes oil, but have become allergic to the solvents, etc. So, I'm using Lee's book to transition to Acrylic."Paint Landscapes in Acrylic" by Lee Hammond is a very, very brief "course" in landscape painting. As usual having some exposure to the materials and a little experience definitely helps. However, if you're serious about learning to paint there is little standing in your way but taking the time to patiently work through the preparatory exercises. Once you have mastered the basics, you should be prepared to take on the demonstrations in the latter part of the book.Be patient with yourself. Depending on your previous experience and the amount of time you have to devote to the effort it may take a while. But, allocating the necessary time is the only way to get there. As many have say before: "You can do it".Difficulties you may encounter are:There are typically just three step-by-step photos in the projects; however, there is text to support the 3 steps.I like the book.

There is a lot of good basic principles in this and it teaches a lot but the examples tend to be very simple and the tone of most of his paintings is dark.

I liked the color suggestions to paint various pictures.

Made easy

I am an 80 year old housebound complete and utter dyed-in-the-wool novice at painting,----but this book is a revelation,simply writtenand so easy to follow,that I am beginning to believe I might actually paint a picture of sorts,------would recommend this book to all starters such as myself---a great read----six stars--if that were possible.

I liked this booked. It was easy to follow and well illustrated. Great for beginners.

I needed a book to help me defining fields mountains etc. And it did not let me down. This book is for the absolute beginner to struggling intermediates. Pleased with the purchase.
