Murder in the Library 6-14 Player Murder Mystery Dinner Party Game

This is a very well thought out game with all the items you need to run a very enjoyable Murder Mystery night. Includes invitations to send to all guests, clear instructions for the organiser and well thought out and clearly printed character sheets for each character. The clever design means that the murderer is selected by secret lot at the start of the night so everyone including the organiser can play. The timing is pretty accurate so you know how long the game is likely to last and it can be run flexibly around different evening schedules from drinks and snacks, through to buffets and proper sit-down meals (assuming the host is well organised). The only minor criticism is that the costume suggestions are attached to the character sheet so they can't really be sent with the invitation. It would be better if the costume suggestions were detachable and could be sent with the invitations. I had to photocopy these for each guest and post them with the invitations. Otherwise it was certainly worth the money. Also included three certificates for best costume, best detective and best wit which if you run as a little ballot at the end makes an enjoyable finale. Would certainly buy this again as there are three different sets altogether all following the same pattern.

Hosted a colleague's leaving do. 10 adults played. Gave invites out 4 weeks in advance, so costumes were amazing. Took 3hrs to play inc dinner. Even the sceptics enjoyed the game. Genius that we can play again with different guests and the game be different. We sat around the table and all guests were engaged and entertained. Hosts could join in easily. Will need to re print the character sheets but not expecting this to be difficult from the games Web site but haven't tried yet

Everything you need to host your own Murder Mystery Party. Really well thought out game. Everyone can play, including the host as the murderer is selected on the night. The accents flying round the table kept us laughing all night. A very enjoyable game. I highly recommend. Easy to follow, can be played at your own pace, pausing for food etc. Great costume ideas.I'm off to purchase the others!!

Great night we all dressed for the parts , so many laughs

We've played many murder mystery games in the past but this one is easy to understand and use and I am looking forward to our family gathering for my birthday next month to use it.

I liked the flexibility - anyone can be the murderer and if you want to run the game again with another set of guests it will be a different killer. The characters are really good and a very funny time was had by all

Good value for money as can be used many times!

I had 14 people play this murder mystery for my birthday and it was so much fun! The audio tracks for each Act were so good. My dad and step mom came and I gave them parts even though they didn’t want to fully commit and they still read some of their lines here and there which was fun and folded right in. I had requests to do another one next year!

Such a fun game to play with multiple people and great for teens.

I bought “Murder at the Manor” last year and this one recently and I’m bummed that so many of the characters are similar. I also wish the women characters (not just men) were doctors and professors & fewer maids and cooks.

This was an awesome kit! It had no tacked on characters. We played it with 12 people from teen to adult and had a blast! The only tricky thing was a few words were unique to British English. It didn’t impact the scripts on the whole, though. Highly recommend!

Came without all the parts. I suspect it was a used one. I was under the impression I was buying a new one!
