Very strange!
I don’t know if it was my frame of mind, but I really couldn’t get into this film,it didn’t play very well but I don’t think it was that, just seemed very heavy and not relaxing to watch. I sent it back and had a refund, excellent service from Amazon.

Beautiful
Such a beautiful movie. Watched with kids and the older one (12) loved it. So different than other movies but so warm, so wonderfull and deep an meaning.

Unusual and compelling storyline, with a true sense of wonder
This tale has two parallel strands that are intimately connected over time. It could have schmaltzy or corny, but it articulated an intimate sense of inter-generational love so originally, and with such nuance, it was breathtaking. And that's before the myriad film references. The soundtrack is to die for in its variety…

Interesting, thought-provoking, well worth a watch.
An interesting and different film.

Not 'Hugo'.
This is an interesting film, but not as good as 'Hugo', I am not sure if it is aimed at children or adults.

Wonderful
The most unusual and thought provoking movie I've seen in years, though not in the way I expected it.

Two hours of tedium.
A deadly bore fest. Incomprehensibly filmed in the dark with brief written messages flashed in front of us that are too ill-lit and too swiftly snatched away to read, along with an irritating soundtrack that obscures what's said. Terrible waste of money. Heaven knows what the allegedly NYT best-selling book is like, but this film is as negative an advertisement for it as could be, and I won't be looking for a copy.

Marvellous
Read the book first to really appreciate the true wonder of this film
