I just wanted an inexpensive mandolin to try it out and see if it would be fun to learn. I first ordered a rock bottom priced one with no frills, waited two months but the thing never came so I cancelled the order and decided to order this one. It was here in 48 hours.I AM THRILLED!!! It is beautiful — flawless and much nicer looking than the pictures.I tuned it up and the strings have a beautiful ring and the sound lasts. It actually feels easier to play to my fingers than my ukuleles.The edges of the frets are nice and smooth.The wood, African Mahogany, feels very strong and is light weight but sturdy. I was worried that it would feel like cardboard — but not at all.The bag is nice, fits perfectly, and will give the instrument ample protection. The front pocket is good sized but not bulky with plenty of room for accessories.The tuner works fine, the picks are great, the cloth will be handy, the strap is cute (I might go for black one later) and brightly colored and includes the string needed to use it (I didn’t see that in the pictures.I haven’t experimented with the pick up yet. An extra set of strings is included but I hope to goodness I don’t need to restring it any time soon.All this to say, I am very pleased and highly recommend this instrument to anyone who wants to “put a toe in the water.”…and did I mention that it is just so pretty?

My 17 year old wanted one of these. I got it for his birthday and he was thrilled. It’s very sturdy and has great sound. It didn’t need tuned but he played with it anyways and it worked out really well. This was exactly what we were looking for for the price.

I am a guitarist and bassist, and wanted to learn mandolin. For a starter like me, this is perfect. It looks great. Electric plug-in feature allowed me to immediately start playing in my band. Sounds good. It has all the features needed to get a feel for this instrument, with case and necessary accessories. I’ve been surprisingly impressed with this purchase. I may stay with this model for some time before considering an upgrade.

I bought the pink mandolin to have a budget instrument that I would not have to worry about if it got banged up while using it in social settings and outdoors places. It is a very pretty mandolin and I was excited to see it. However... after tuning it and adjusting the intonation it continued to have an awful string twang buzz.Steps to remedy:1) Took tail piece cover off, placed felt strip over strings. Put cover back on.2) Checked nut depth and angle.3) Checked string height.4)Checked fret height5) Placed wrap around strings behind the nut, before the tuning pegs.6) Removed pick guard.STILL AWFUL SOUNDING string vibration7) Desided to change strings to a set of quality strings.8) Loosened and removed strings from tuning pegs.9) Opened tail piece cover only to discover that the hooks for the loops of the strings is completely crimped closed.NO WAY TO CHANGE STRINGS with out spending money to change out tail piece, defeats purpose of being a budget friendly beginner instrument.DO NOT purchase this as a gift. Unless the receiver is prepared to spend extra money on it.It is a one and done item.The PHOTOS I took were of me trying to pull strings off of the string hooks.

I wanted to pick up my first Mandolin to learn how to play. I did some digging around and decided to get a "budget instrument" just to learn, and then invest some additional funds into a nicer one to play in church and when recording music.I was completely shocked of the quality of this! No....really...I played a few Gretsch Mandolins as well as a few Ibanez ones for 3 to 4 times the price of this. The build quality and attention to detail was on par, if not slightly better than the Ibanez, and ALMOST on par with the Gretsch.Then to my amazement, it sounded IDENTICAL to the Gretsch, and had a better resonance and cleanness than the Ibanez.I decided that I will not be getting a better one later, and just sticking with this. Sincere thank you to Mulucky for making a beautiful and quality instrument.

This instrument is very sturdy. It is not cheap. It is made with very expensive material and it plays just fine. I was able to tune it in like two minutes.

I play it all the time it’s such a fun instrument and it sounds good to me I love it
