MomanMTR Series teleprompter D (RGB)

I was actually looking for a tripod mounted ringlight for fashion shoots when I came across this. This kit has an autocue unit driven by your smartphone. Note that bigger phones will work better. You can see in my video that my phone isn't that big. That said, the teleprompter worked very effectively.The kit is aimed at smartphone videographers and vloggers and includes all the phone mounts you will need for this. It also includes a range of lens ring adapters in standard sizes so mirrorless and dslr cameras can also be mounted. I tried it with my Sony A7III and it worked very well but it may struggle with heavier full frame DSLR bodies like the Canon 5D or 1D ranges. Stick to smaller DSLR or mirrorless and you'll be fine. The central column is extensible or the unit can be tripod mounted.The app is available for both iOS and Android. I used the android version and it's simple but fully configurable. You can set font sizes, colour and background colour, scroll speed, vertical or horizontal formats, rotation and reversing (the text will be mirrored so needs to be reversed). The app can be controlled both from the phone and from the remote control.The light is what impressed me most. It's output is much higher than I expected — I don't recommend using it at full power — it will blind your subject! It is usb powered and has controls on the cable, dimmer and colour temperature switches. It doesn't transition between tungsten and daylight, they seem to be on separate circuits. So you choose one of the other, each being fully dimmable.In summary it's a useful unit. The teleprompter is simple and works well and the light is great.

Quality of the Teleprompter glass is excellent, text is clear with no blurry edges and from the cameraside, the glass doesn't create any ghosting, or reflections.The ring light supplied with the unit has great brightness, creates a very flattering light, especially whenthe colour is set to the warmest of the available three options.I used it recently for a book review video and it done it great job.The text was clear to the reviewer and I noticed no discernable loss of sharpness,or contrast in the video.The unit comes with a nice extendable table top stand.My main use will be with a full frame mirrorless camera, so I'll have the Telepromptertripod mounted for the most part, but the stand may come in handy if I ever want to use a phone etc.If your of the inclination to use a smartphone as your camera, the kit comes with phone mountsfor both horizontal and vertical mounting and a bunch of different foam cut outsto match where your camera lens is likely to be.I attached my old Samsung S7 in one of the included pics for reference.For Dslr/Mirrorless, there are a number of suppiled adapter rings (much like the old Cokin adapters)from 49mm to 77mm.Simply fit the adapter ring to your lens and slide the teleprompter over adapter flange.Takes seconds to mount, or dismount. The entire Teleprompter with ring light is not veryheavy. I had no problem at all, attaching it to the front my of tripod mounted Sony A7RiiiThe ringlight is usb powered. I curled the power cable down a tripod leg to a usb powerbank on the floor,you could also use any mains powered usb output device, phone charger etc, but a powerbank is quitea neat solution.The software app is pretty basic, but works well enough.There were a few things I didn't like:The remote control can be difficult to to get connected (paired) to the app, once it's connected it's rock solid,but it can be a bit fiddly. I found it best to pair the remote to the phone, turn off the remote,then start the App, click 'Device Connect' on the App, then turn on the remote and it should then be found immediately.Other than that, some of the plastic parts are a bit basic and there is a bit of wobble in the mountings.However, for the price it does the job it's meant to do and it does it very well indeed.I'm looking forward to a getting a lot of use out of the unit.

The teleprompter works just as expected but the ring light is excellent3 colours to choose from, I like the medium warm and adjustable brightness tooLots of mounts come with this too so you can put your smart phone in the middle and record your tiktoks and reelsI would recommend this product to anyone who wants to up their scripted video quality
