MONTANA DECOY Purr-fect Pair

I love these decoys! I have received may compliments on them and you can't be the price. I bought these based upon the advice and expertise of the good folks over at GrowingDeer.TV. They are easy to carry, easy to set up and they helped me get my first turkey this spring. Unfortunately, my second turkey eluted me, but that is most like just my inexperience. It can be difficult putting these back in their carrying straps. The reason I gave only three stars is because after only three uses, Miss Purr-fect's neck is broken so her head only hangs down. This makes her useless for anything but the feeding position. If I can get my broken hen replaced I would most likely adjust my rating as well as add another hen or two to my flock.Edit: After writing this review I contacted Montana Decoy. The following day I had an email reply from CJ with instructions on how to repair my hen, which worked Purr-fect-ly. Thank you CJ for the great customer support! As promised I have adjusted my rating. Other customers may experience the same problem so I have copied the response for you viewing pleasure...Greg,I hope this finds you doing well and I am sorry for your trouble with your decoy. We will gladly take care of your problem.I've found that most of the time the wire isn't broken it just gets pushed out of the head and neck by folding. If you find the last ring of the body spring you should feel where the head and neck wire is attached. Simply follow it and work it back into the neck and head. If you want to try that first no problem but if you would rather us swap you one out we can certainly do that as well.Just let me know what you would like to do and we'll help anyway we can. So I decided to teach my beautiful wife to turkey hunt this season. After the first weekend, I was frustrated because there were plenty of Toms in the area but they weren't coming to my elcheepo decoy. As soon as we got home, I ordered the Purr-fect Pair and got expedited delivery so I would have them for the next weekend. They arrived in time and we set up in the same spot as we did the previous weekend. Sure enough, as soon as I saw a Tom, I used the same calling as I did the previous weekend. The difference is that, instead of stopping 100 yards away (like they did with my cheepo decoy) they came in like they were on a mission. Long story-short, my wife and I were able to bag out (4 Toms) in two days....hunting together from the same blind. I definitely recommend these decoys. I love how lifelike they are and how easy to transport they are by folding flat. I also love the two holes so you can put them in different positions.

I haven’t been able to take these out yet, so this review is just on initial impressions. The price is good for two decoys. I also own decoys from another well known company. The other decoy’s are more realistic looking. In fact so much so that you may have trouble knowing which is real and which is fake when calling birds in. The downside of the other decoys I own are price and portability. The Montana decoy’s are half the price and are much much easier to tote into the woods. So again these come at a good price, are light and easily portable in your vest pouch however they aren’t to most realistic looking decoys on the market. I will update this after getting my next turkey with any positives or negatives.

Overall great decoys. Only negative I see at the moment is sometimes it is hard to place the stake into the decoy due to the stitching.Otherwise all positive. Very portable. They fold up like an accordian. The cloth material makes them quiet. My hunting buddy had the rubber/plastic ones we've always used in the past. I didn't realize how noisy they were until I used these Montana decoys. You can position these decoys in multiple positions if you want. There was no big time difference for me as far as getting them out my pack and staking them in the ground compared to other decoys I own. The decoys look good. When holding the jake in particular up close, you probably will be skeptical of realism. But put them in a field and they look good. They have brought turkeys into the field and or have not scared them off. So they are good decoys in my book.

I was disappointed that the head on the hen decoy is not attached and seems dislocated. Can not adjust the head to sit upright. I hunt in tall grasses and the decoys can be hard to see. Could use a longer stick so it would sit up higher.

I love these decoys. Set them out a few days ago and took my sons turkey hunting. Called several birds in and when they saw the decoys they made a mad dash to them to see what was going on. Would have gotten a double but both boys missed. Decoys definitely did the job they were bought for. Will never turkey hunt without them.

It appears to be essentially a spring internal. Unfortunately, this leaves several areas where the body is not full and will look as if their are “dents” in the decoy.The straps used to retain the compact travel format were not well thought out and are cumbersome. This needs to be re-engineered.The stakes are very sturdy, but should be more compact. Perhaps 3 or 4 folds to make them more portable.Very lightweight and relatively portable.Appearance when deployed could be better, but they look realistic from a distance which is what you want.

I had never been turkey hunting and decided to try the Purr-fect Pair for my first trip out. I set these two decoys out at 6:59 AM and had two huge toms strutting around them by 7:10 AM. During the day-long hunt I had five turkeys come up to the decoys. They look very real, especially when they are on the stand with a breeze. A little to a lot of wind makes their movement on the stand seem life-like.

Easy to Assemble. Just takes seconds to unfold and they expand immediately. Very realistic. Got my turkey first day of use.

these things look great. looking forward to trying next season. they fold up so nicely for transport.
