Doesn't have a built-in check valve and was slightly shorter out if the top for my Whirlpool hot water heater, but it solved my problem for way less than an OEM part

Exactly as advertised, fit my AO smith 40 gallon tank. Only downside is that it doesn’t have a heat trap, but you can put a coupler and then a heat trap nipple after this dip tube. This was my only option because the local big box store didn’t have dip tubes nor 5inch heat traps. So if you need a 5inch nipple with dip tube then this is the one for you. Ordered on a Friday received Sunday morning!

Perfect replacement part for my Bradford White 40 gallon water heater model No. M440T6FBN5: Bradford White Dip Tube 229-39625-25. This item is 2" longer at the top half ( 3.5" top x 1.5" bottom ) than the stock 1.5" that protrude from the top of the heater, but the lower threaded portion that screws down into the top of the tank is the same 1.5" Just make sure you have enough distance from your cold water supply and corrugated copper pipe to the threaded fitting as I did. Go to the BW website and find your needed part number. This product will fit many models or find the Camco equivalent to fit your specifications. N.B. This is not a Hydrojet dip tube that was OE on my water heater and many other BW units. I needed to obtain a replacement quickly to get my BW WH operational. BW Hydrojet dip tubes are available. I did find my OE dip tube but they may take a couple of weeks to special order although this is working quite well so I'm not going to worry about it for now. This repair is done.

Bought this to replace the dip tube in my gas water heater. Easy install and came on time. You have to cut it to the size of your water heater which was easy enough to do. I hope that I don't need another one of these for a long time, but if I did this would be the one to get. I would recommend this and you can't beat the price and shipping.

Only thing I didn't like was that it had to be cut to size, which it tells you in the description. The assembly fixed my problem, and it fit just fine after cutting to size (no leaks from it either.

My Lochinvar KMA050KD originally had a 3/8 or . 5inch diameter dip tube. I had to chisel off some minerals from the hole, but it did eventually fit snug. Threaded perfectly, even if it fails in a few years this was money well spent to get hot water and not waiting for a plumbing supply store to order the OEM dip tube.
