I own a lot of cast iron. This is my favorite. I am not a fan of chili or spaghetti...but my family is....and being able to slow cook both tastes so much better in this pot than from a slow cooker or regular pot. I honestly don't know how, or why....but my family can tell if I use my iron, or if I short cut it.I love the corn bread, breakfast and steaks that The lid (pan) is good for.

Heats up very quickly. Gave my steak and lamb chops a nice sear. I also "grilled" a nice salmon fillet on it. Love that I can use this, when I don't want to get the grill out, to seal in the flavor of the meat. The lid is great for getting the meat done just right, then I can make a sauce with what's left after cooking. I haven't tried the pot portion yet. So far so good though. I'm going to try baking in it next.

Besides being a historical reenactor of many decades, I use cast iron daily. It is actually the healthiest metal to cook in as it does leech out some iron into your food with every use and this is one way your body can get iron supply. I am an herbalist and naturalist and I would only cook on this and pure stainless steel.

I love cast iron so bought this Dutch oven. I’ve used the lid repeatedly for cooking tortillas & love the depth of the deep bottom part. Cook everything in both pieces. Family of 3-4 so cook a lot & my tools are important.

This is my first cast iron set. I love how the “lid” of the Dutch oven doubles as a skillet. These are perfect to use at home and while camping.

Product rusts on contact w/water! Will stain your counters & towels. The rough casting and poor finish abraded hand, cut fingers. So not easy to clean, messy! Despite description, it is not cured. Save yourself time, and hassle returning this heavy item. Cannot compare to a proper enameled Dutch oven from Staub or other maker. I got this smaller size Thinking it could be a daily workhorse- DON’T BOTHER!!! A waste! Box and packaging were beautiful but I would be embarrassed to give this as a gift!

Switching up all my cookware to healthier nontoxic alternatives and came across this beauty. I was Skeptical about making rice in it but it actually turned out amazing! I’m already in love with the product. I used The lid to fry up some eggs and didn’t stick. Truly love it!

I purchased this to primarily use for making sourdough bread. The product worked and was packaged nicely, but the pans did not come with the handle, which was part of the reason for choosing this set. The pans would be easier to work with if they had the long handle as pictured.I would have returned it but I needed it the day it arrived.To be clear, I intentionally ordered the 3qt set because of the handle; so technically I got an upgraded unit, but it doesn't fit my specific needs.
