Neptune (Long John Silver)

This is the second installment of a beautifully drawn and remarkably entertaining read
The voyage begins. The crew, full of schemers, is now on it's way to find the wayward Lord Byron Hastings and his alleged location of a mountain of gold. Not enough questions are being asked, however, and his brother is a hard task master to the crew. Silver's plot is sound but can he keep his men together and will he betray the Lady Vivian's trust. This is the second installment of a beautifully drawn and remarkably entertaining read. I cannot recommend it highly enough. Not being an expert on the period and times it's hard to say there aren't any written anachronisms but if I spent my time worrying about that the fun would probably dim, but just a little.Overall, this is one of best series I've read in a very long time. The artist/storyteller's passion for the subject matter, characters and setting are impossible to miss. It's so good I hope it's never made into a film because it would be hard to get it as right as it looks and reads here.

Excellent art and story
I enjoyed the art in this book so much that I also bought the larger deluxe French version. Mathieu Lauffray's pen and ink along with watercolor is excellent! The story is very well done by Xavier Dorison. It is the Long John Silver you know, and yet a whole new, totally different adventure. Well done!

Good series.....
Excellent series;the story is very engrossing & the art by Mathieu Mauffray is outstanding.Unfortunately, the authors leave you hanging after the 3rd volume & have not finished the story. A shame really, would've made an outstanding movie as well.I would've gave it 5 stars except for the NOT FINISHING THE STORY thing.

All at sea
Book two in this beautifully drawn series. In this chapter the old sea cook's duality of personality is explored further with a wonderful "will he, won't he" swashbuckling scene near the end, classic stuff. The whole book this time takes part on board ship as they cruise towards their expected treasure trove, with a similar feel as the original "Treasure Island" in that Long John Silver is leader of the "crew", who are mostly a group of pirates ready to follow Long John's whim. This is great graphic novel territory. No problem from me with quality of print/finishing, a great product.

Fantastic Comic
This is a great comic series, fantastic art and a great story, totally worth the money and the time and if you can swing it buy the French copies as the print quality and the colour reproduction is far superior to the English translations.

Poor quality printing
Several pages came loose when I first opened the book. Also, I did not think the artwork in this book is as good as in the first book in the series.
