Been using cheap HF, cam style bar clamps, forever. These are about the same price and quality, but have the multi plate style. Seem to work really well.but.....As another reviewer said, the blades are in upside down. No biggie. Took 5 min and flipped em.EDIT: After a week. Using on clean 1/2 black iron pipe. Even after sanding em shiny, can't move em easily. Hit the plates with a pencil grinder (not much) and seems to work well now.

The holes bored for a 1/2" black iron pipe are too small. The clamps are very difficult to adjust for size. Probably never purchase any more.

Whatever you do, do not purchase these I bought 24 of them a couple of months ago and almost every single one of them has completely fallen apart, half of them were threaded completely crooked, and barely even fit on the pipe, because of this crooked angle whenever I tighten them, they would strip right off of the threads of the pipe, the ones that survived the initial assembly have all but disintegrated in one way or another. Some of the housing cast iron has completely snapped in half, almost all of the clamping ledge have come detached from the threads, and some of the actual cranking screw have snapped in half extremely cheap poorly made waste of money. Spend a couple extra dollars and buy the real thing.

Had a very bad experience with these cheap clamps! At first, because the item was heavy and very badly packaged, I received the box all busted. The clamps where scratched and corners where chipped. When I try to use them I found out that the sides of the clamps where not parallel to each others and some part casted all uneven and twisted.I had to switch them with better ones to avoid having the glued wooden boards bowed and ruin everything. Very cheaply made item and not smooth operation at all. The springs are very stiff and cheap. Customer service not helpful at all. I had to return the item even though was just good to be thrashed away. Buy cheap and buy twice! Absolutely not recommended and don't spend the time.

the adjustment clips are on the bottom of the rear shoe, making it impossible to stand up properly.

Only 2 of the claps worked out of six, "would not recommend".
