Eternals [DVD]

This is nothing but awful woke pandering trash! Marvel should be ashamed!
I am utterly astonished at all of the good reviews of this movie! I can’t help but believe our world is becoming more and more filled with morons who have no true taste of what good art and story telling is, but then I am reminded how we are just coming out of a pandemic that made us quarantine and change our lives entirely, so I guess when people are deprived this much of life, they will be happy with anything you put in front of them. This movie was absolute trash. No wait, there is trash more worthy that this one. That’s how bad it was. Admittedly, It looked corny from the trailer to begin with, but a friend of mine was visiting from out of town and wanted to go to the theater, so this was the movie he picked. Since it’s Marvel and had some stars like Salma Hayek and Angelina Jolie, I decided to give it a chance- I have loved Marvel over the years… But Wow, what a let down. 23 minutes in and I knew it would be horrible. Trust me, you will, too, once you see the antagonists and get a feel for how the story is shaping up to be. What was Marvel thinking?’ Who wrote this borefest? What a waste of money and time from my life… and what a waste of of money and time for Marvel.Ok, let’s get to some of the actual analysis and grading here. No spoilers.. don’t worry.1st… the story is awful. It is an attempt to be some sort of over the top magnificent telling of gods and origin of worlds, but instead it ends up being a monotonous and lame plot that puts all of its reliance on action and special effects. The special effects are good, I’ll give it that, but the ideas that the special effects manifest are lousy. There is no real character development or character building that connects the audience. Conversely, the characters are thinly constructed and not given any true essence or struggle. This is part of why the movie is so disappointing; After such a fantastic run of Marvel movies over the years, Eternals takes a hard left and forsakes all of the greatness Marvel has done with character building and story development in its canon. So much of this movie is forced and doesn’t make any sense. There is too much to even cover regarding that, but one example is the attempt at comedy. The jokes are super corny and just not funny. Almost every single instance something happens that is supposed to be funny and provide the audience a laugh, it was dead silent and awkward in the theater. But again, comedy in a movie like this is supposed to be secondary and an added element to a good story with good action, so the failed comedy is not the problem. The problem is the story itself. It is written so poorly I wanted to walk out. The only reason I did not was that my friend from out of town told me a couple times, “give it a chance to get better…” which, unfortunately, it never did. To add insult to injury, another aspect that felt completely forced is the attempt at showing diversity. The actors are a diverse cast of men and women from different backgrounds, which is beautiful in its essence, but not in this movie. As aforementioned, the characters are flat and static, but in addition, the acting was mediocre and nothing special, even from A-listers Angelina Jolie and Salma Hayek. Because of this, it does a disservice to us. It is frustrating that when a movie has this type of diverse cast, a beautiful thing, the movie itself turns out to be so awful. Furthermore, the LGBTQ+ community is represented in this film and it is an insult that this representation, which is a novelty, has happened in such a lame and poorly told story. It’s almost embarrassing because it just adds to the disappointment. After further contemplation and seeing more reviews come forward, I am able to see more clearly the “misguided and harmful wokeness” that lies in the creators behind this film. I almost wonder if there is a root of hatred and bitterness in them from, perhaps, not being part of the hegemony. Again, this comes to mind after seeing more reviews pour in from critics and audience members.Marvel has decided to put the first gay kiss in one of its movies, which is fine, but it proves how they have put “wokeness” and the LGBTQ+ community’s representation as priority at the sacrifice of good art and storytelling. I have to reiterate, this is insulting to both the community it is trying to support, and the audiences that deserve better movie going experiences, Especially in a time of such difficulty in the world, as well as such high prices to attend a movie at the theater. Additionally, Marvel does the same disservice to women, being that the most powerful main characters of the film are the female characters. The movie depicts women fighting and showing dominance throughout. …. Throughout a pathetic storyline. Then, (spoiler alert !!!! Spoiler alert!!! ) Marvel contradicts its “wokeness” by promoting suicide. So, I guess they are promoting gayness and suicide? One of the central characters, who turns out to be a traitor to his team, decides to kill himself at the end of the story. Let’s look deeper though. This character is the white male heterosexual who feels guilty about what he has done on the planet. So, he decides to kill himself, but don’t worry, when he does it, it is portrayed with majestic music and depicted as being the righteous thing to do.Wow. The rabbit hole goes deeper than I originally thought. Fellows movie goers and lovers of art and story telling, please be vigilant to guard against the bitterness and wokeness that is infecting authentic and worthy creativity, and instead be awakened in truth and grace.May movies inspire you, enlighten you, and spark your imagination and dreams. The only things good about this movie are the special effects and scenery, as well as some of the action sequences. Other than that, the story and characters are forgettable and boring.Save your time and money.

What a disappointment, be it expected or not.
Wow. You couldn't pay me $2.000.00 to watch another 20 seconds of this movie. I deserve a full Refund and $100.00 more for having watched it. When woke china disney bought Marvel out, a while ago, they really trashed it. There are multiple underlying hidden messages that I find dangerous for any decent and compassionate people watching it, especially children who are so easily manipulated. It's all but insignificant to me as all this abusive and woke garbage is about to be deleted in "Creation's Purge".

A Flawed and Unorganized Film That Will Be Free on Disney Plus in January
I watched this film when it came out on my birthday. I entered the movie theater with a decent level of optimism. When the film finished, I left with disappointment. The "A plot" of the film takes place across a week. However, a good majority of the film's introductions for character backstories are done through flashbacks, most of which last for 10+ minutes long each. The film has a very bad habit of skipping time periods whenever it needs to introduce a new member of the Eternals. There are 10 members of the Eternals team in total, so this happens pretty frequently. In addition, the pacing of the film was terribly handled as it dragged on and on until the final act. Once the final act hit, the pacing completely changed. A level of consistency or clearly defined levels of consistency for pacing is/are necessary for a good film.As for the cast, I found them to be a mixed bag. I liked Kingo, Phastos, Gilgamesh, and Karun. I was indifferent about Makkari, Druig, Ajak, and Thena. I didn't like Sersi, Ikaris, Sprite, or Kro. In my opinion, I think the film would've been better if they halved the total number of Eternals that were focused on throughout the film. Having fewer Eternals to develop would allow for greater depth in the remaining Eternals (it kinda seems like Marvel is planning on doing this with Eternals 2).I wouldn't say that it's the worst film that I've ever watched, but it's definitely one of the worst MCU films out there (it's the worst on my list below Hulk and Thor: Dark World) and one of the most boring films that I've ever watched. Bad films like "Plan 9 from Outer Space" are fun to watch because of how absurdly bad they are. This film is flawed and boring, which is the worst kind of bad a film can be.I'll still grab it to complete my collection of physical MCU films (I like having complete movie collections so I can rip the movies for Plex [streaming services butcher visual and auditory fidelity]), but it's not a film that you should spend $30+ on willy nilly. Give it a watch on Disney+ first (comes out January 12th there) before determining whether you should spend on this film or not. You can save $30+ that way if you end up not liking the film.Spider-Man: NWH, Shang-Chi, and Black Widow are MUCH better films to spend your money on IMO. Those three films are films that I enjoyed in the theaters. Those three films are also less expensive than the Eternals at the moment.

Do not waste your time!
For the first time, and even thought I was SO looking forward to watch this movie, I did not rent it; but waited to watch it free on Disney plus. I am glad, I did! It was not worth the waiting! This is an overall disappointing movie. For starters, it is a very long movie, without a solid storyline. As we watched it, we kept waiting for the film to "pick up" it pace! After all, it is a marvel movie... it should have all the elements of a superhero film (action, storyline, engaging).Instead, the film left us disappointed! We did not even finish it! It was plain long and boring (somehow similar to WW84! Lots of noise about the film before release, but falling short to deliver a good film.Other than killing the beasts through the film, and each other; the Eternals had nothing to offer. It is a really slow pace, overall boring movie, with lots of missing elements. Funny though, cause Disney had the money, high tech and the cast to make of this concept a great movie; but they missed it!Do not recommend it! Disney has really made a great job ruining the Marvel franchise :-/ and it is always good at pushing unnnecesary agendas on each one of its shows :-/
