Nostalgic at its best. Perfect disc quality, no scratches. Played great in my dvd player

Totally worth getting.
I will start by saying why I gave it 4 Stars. The bad:It says complete collection but the OVA is not included.Other problems: the inside of the case was broken and there is a plastic page holding disc 3-6 loose on the bottom because of this.Solution:The sleeve is not able to fall out and the OVA is on youtube. I saw it and it is really good. The Good:You get both seasons in one collection and at a good price imo. The quality is excellent and the discs have characters on them too.I have used these in my PS4 and laptop(watched on VLC Player) and it is amazing.Speaking of, my laptop is why I got the dvd copy. My only device that plays blu-ray is my PS4. I can watch them on the go with my laptop dvd drive if I have DVDs.Next I want to say that you don't just get the English dub. You get the sub and dub episodes. As Umi is played by one of my favorite anime actors(Wendy Lee) in the dub I am especially happy. If you think Umi sounds like Haruhi(Melancholy of Haruhi Suzamia) or Blanc(Neptunia) than that's probably the reason. The case is made with hard plastic and there are pictures behind discs 1,2,7 and 8.I wanted to give this 4.5 Stars. If you are a fan and want a game with the magic knights you can choose from:Fighting: Magical Battle Arena Complete Form*Strategy: Super Robot Wars TRPG: Magic Knight Rayearth*multiplayer and training are the only modes they are in.

Not for me, sadly
Now, before anyone comes for me, I went into this believing I would enjoy it. I'm a 90's kid and I grew up with the 90's and early 2000's anime shows. They hold a very special place in my heart. Lately, I've had an urge to relive through that time of nostalgia and what better way than with an anime I've never seen from said time period? Exactly. Unfortunately, despite going into it with the mindset of understanding this is a 90's anime, it left a LOT to be desired.- First problem is that there is so much filler in the first season. I'm okay with filler if it fleshes things out, gives us more time to know characters / helps them grow, or gives us extra details that get the audience more invested. None of the these things happened in the filler episodes. It was a rinse and repeat method of go to this place/area, fight a little, and win. It bore me to tears so badly that I had to look up an episode guide just so I could watch episodes that had actual plot relevance in them.- Second problem is that I had heard of this big "plot twist" at the end of the first season. Something that was supposed to be a slap in the face and is praised, even by people who found this show meh. I was eagerly looking forward to it and when we finally got to it, I was just like "...that's it?" Maybe it was too hyped up from what I saw. Sure, it was a smidge surprising (at first) but then you learn it's literally the same plot twist you've seen in numerous anime shows that involve villains and why they take the path they do. I'm unsure why people thinks it's something amazing. Learning that the princess had a relative and who he is was way more surprising.- Next problem, I never felt any real attachment to the characters. Umi was probably my favorite and only because she actually questioned things. Hikaru was the typical female protagonist you get in magical girl anime. And Fuu was...*clears throat* Let's just say I expected more than her standing around and doing hardly anything a good chunk of the time. I also felt no attachment to the other characters they met along the way.- I couldn't get past the first two episodes of the second season because all they do is talk about everything that happened in the first season.- Numerous animations are refused and--other than the opening and closing theme songs--the music is bad (much of it sounded like it was ripped from video games in the 90's and no, don't use the excuse that it's a 90's anime. There are plenty of other 90's anime that have average or decent soundtracks).I think I would recommend it to someone who is just getting into anime, who hasn't seen tropes and stereotypes, and maybe a younger audience than the typical teenager. But if you're older or want to relive some nostalgia, just watch what you're already familiar with.

A decent dub
The dub was produced by Bang Zoom and features the greatest of voice talent.

Expensive, but worth every penny
I didn't have the pleasure of growing up watching this anime. But I did find it on a third party streaming website and I loved every minute. If you love stories about fantasy worlds, giant robots, and epic battles, this is the anime for you. It's also for you if you're a fan of Studio Clamp.

Great classic anime given new life with blu ray
I only saw this show once on crackle many years ago. As it turned out i only saw the 1st season as crackle didn't have anything more than that available. I can't comment as to the second season as i am still watching this from season one again, but so far the quality is as good as one could hope for. The animation style is of course a little dated looking considering the era in which it was done. It has sharp edging, good colors, good sound, no dirt scratches or anything. Whatever source they used it seems it was well preserved after all these years. Also worth noting is that the english dub is as good as i remembered. The actors are all good and i know them from various funi dubs. I know some people hate english dubs but this one is worth watching. The music and characters are also good. I can't recommend this anime enough and its totally worth the price. On a side note this show has a very legend of zelda like feel to it, which i also like.

A classic anime in the best possible release. Recomended for people who liked Sailor Moon but thought it needed more giant robot
Finally released in all it's glory. Rayearth ran 2 seasons and was basically a Sailor Moon type of show but with more emphasis on battles and giant robots. The art style is dated but it holds up very well and is beautiful. This Bluray is perfect. The picture quality is crisp and colourful but never to the point of oversaturation. The only issue is like most old anime on Blu-ray, you will occasionally see the dust on the original cells and maybe even some brush strokes.Personally, I find this heartwarming to see the work of the original animation team and the lengths of hard work they went through. The sound is very clear and is better than the original DVDs which had that hisss in the background. The music is no longer muted and can be turned up to get your inner Otaku going. Overall, a perfect release. Now I just have to track down the soundtrack.

Nuova vita
Cofanetto americano, quindi i lettori europei non lo fanno vedere, ma i PC potete tranquillamente vederlo. Non ho mai visto Magic Knight Rayearth così bene gli americani sanno fare il loro lavoro.
