Outstanding taste and texture, with vegetarian 'meat'
Out of the three varieties of Omeals I've tried so far the Pasta Fagioli easily beats the Beef Stew and Vegetarian Chili flavors. Your results may vary. This 8-ounce meal was delicious, with a good balance of herbs, spiciness and salt. The other two varieties were just *meh* in comparison. The heating packet worked perfectly with about 4 ounces of water (or other "liquid"). Napkin, spoon, salt and pepper are included. Great for emergencies, or when you just want a hot meal when the power goes out or the roads are too icy to venture out. Or you're doing that camping thing.

Outstanding!
Beats the heck out of freeze dried food and conventional MREs. Tastes great and really gets hot! Good portion size for one individual. I'm hooked! A word of caution--the liquid in the pouch gets HOT, so careful with it.

Amazing technology
This is just an amazing technology and saves a ton of weight/hassle for backpacking since you don't need a stove. I didn't have any issues with expiration date, etc. - was clearly visible and was 2.5 years away. Food was good, probably wasn't my favorite taste-wise, and was definitely a small portion (even for a light female eater), but was adequate and really fun to use! Added bonus-it was freezing where I was and the extra heat from the left-over packaging lasted a good hour!

I will say the heating element was COOL and worked great
Not much food in the bag for a hungry hiker. Be careful...this is a serving for 1. In many of the other brands, there is enough for 2 people. I will say the heating element was COOL and worked great! Food was hot and flavorful!

Delicious and easy preparation, yummy
I was skeptical at first. However; the flavor was great, easy transport and stayed hot until gone. I'll definitely buy it again

Great for long day hike!
Great for a long day hike. Very tasty. Wouldn't take on overnight trip as too heavy and too much waste to carry out.

Worth it!
Pasta Fragioli is a excellent choice. Great flavor you dont typically get on a backpacking trip! OMEALS has some of the best flavored meals period.

Tastes good but small portion
This tasted surprisingly good & I like the self-heating concept. As others have mentioned it’s a very small portion size, 200 calories. Not an adequate dinner for an adult after a long day of hiking- need to supplement it with something else. Also there is a danger of scalding yourself with the hot water in the packet. I let it sit for a while.
