I purchased these sunglasses as dedicated shooting glasses but have found that I now wear them more than my other sunglasses. The optical quality is surprisingly good for $50 (non-polarized) sunglasses especially since inexpensive wrap-around glasses often show annoying distortion. These glasses do not. The grey lenses work well; neither too dark nor too light. I especially like how the glasses grip my head without attaching behind my ear. When wearing headphone style ear protection for hours these sunglasses do not make my ears sore.In summary for $55 you get a nice pair of sunglasses, a crush proof Cordura carrying case, a head-band to secure the glasses if needed, an extra pair of clear lenses, and a foam gasket that fits inside the glasses that can be optionally worn to keep sand the elements out of the inside of the glasses.The only caveat regarding the Wiley X XL-1 sunglasses is that these glasses are made to fit medium to large size heads. The manufacturer isn't kidding on this one. If you have a narrow head these glasses will probably be a poor fit on you.In my opinion, a terrific bargain for great sunglasses.

My eyes are at a difficult age, where for shooting, no correction at all is better than my prescription glasses. Great quality for the price. The lense fidelity is exceptional. I only use the smoked lenses, so I have no comment on switching out to clear lenses. The foam piece to prevent fog and wind interference works well and is simple to put on and take off. I shoot both 9 mm pistols and rifles for fun and these insure my eyes are safe. They look great too. I have a big wide head and these fit. They fit my more 'normal' sized kids as well because of there pliable stems. For quality protection, these are hard to beat.

The glasses are very form fitting and cut down access for most dirt and dust due to the additional liner inside the forehead and eye sockets. If you do not like this feature it is easily remove able. Overall a good pair of glasses and meets z87 requirements. I saw a table of impact studies for z ratings and these glasses did well. The tinting of the glasses were comparable to my Oakley's that I wear when not at work which is why I bought these. Construction related lot's of dust and blowing dirt. Good luck.

Protect eyes after injury

I purchased these for safety reasons due to the higher ballistic rating over the standard ANSI specs. The foam gasket does not fit against my odd shaped melon of a head but no matter anyway. They are bad a... slick. I shoot thousands of handloads per year and I want the best protection I can find in case of an accident. Testimonials on Wiley-X web site if true, have saved the eyesight of many of our troops. Complete with a clear set of lenses which snap in tightly, a tether, hard case and cleaning cloth. I will purchase another pair to keep the clear lenses mounted rather than snapping them in and out. They are my preferred sunglasses for outdoor use.

I enjoy high end eyewear. I wear $400 Oakley's on a daily occurrence so I'm no stranger. These things though? Not really. I bought them because I have to wear safety glasses on my job and most of the time I work outside so I wanted something that would be rugged and a bit stylish. They've scratched easily under minimal wear. The plastic feels cheap, and they do NOT stay on my face. I have an average to large head and the nose grip area turns slippery whenever I get just a drop or two of sweat. After walking about 100 ft I have to push them back up. Unless you want to keep using the band that came with it then this is annoying. The only thing I do like about them is that the lens is very dark and blocks a lot of light. Currently looking to replace these.

Owned a pair of these before, or rather very similar (as their models change slightly through the years). I had them for 2 years before they were stolen off my motorcycle, best glasses I ever had. These have met all of my expectations. I would note though that the older model ( which was nearly identical to these) had thicker foam, which still fits these and I continue to use, but the thinner foam still appears to be adequate. Would buy again. Both smoke and clear lenses included. These also work out great when I'm doing sporting activities, and when working around the house they are great safety goggles- giving you shade during the day, and switching to clear at night. Included band, wipe, and case are all top notch.

Simple as that, I bought my second pair after 12 years because the first pair had a cut in the nose padding, I mistreated them in every possible way, wore them in salty water, threw them on the rocks, on the sand, fell from the bike with them on, kept them with my keys and the lenses were barely scratched.As for the shop, Military 1st did everything by the book A+
