Are the controls good on these, i.e. is it easy to pause, skip track, answer calls, change volume, etc?

The buttons are close together so it can take time to work out which one you need. I'm used to them now so find it easy.

when on long haul flights can they be used with the onboard entertainment supplied. by bluetooth or cable.

They should work ok if the plane offers Bluetooth, but some planes have a strange double connection for headphones in the hopes you will have to purchase their own rubbish headphones. If they have a standard connection, then these will work great.

Does the manufacturer provide ongoing support? I.e battery replacement, ear cups, headbands?

I don’t know. Not had occasion to find out as they are fine after a few months use.

I Would like to know if two headsets can connect to 1 device. eg if we both wanted to watch a film on a tablet can they be synced?

That would be down to the phone and not the headset, like most modern phone do it so as long as you have two Bluetooth devices and the phone supports it you can do it
