Can the storm shell be painted?

How far does the tv wall mount extend from the wall? can the tv turn 90 degrees when fully extended?

i have a 55" tv in mine, i bet it extends about a foot out, and can turn 45 degrees if not a little more. The 55" tv wont turn 90 degrees. I can tell you this has been worth every penny for me. I live in NC and its been through storms, summer, and winter with ZERO issues

Our outdoor tv weighs about 100lbs and will need to get a more heavy duty swivel mount. Will this accommodate a heavy duty rectangle mounting plate?

First off the storm shells are designed to accommodate the various sizes. Having said that depending on the size you have the mount should work. Caution b4 you buy...the shell probably won't support an old style/technology tv. They are designed to support thinner size tvs. The hardware that comes with it is awesome bc it extends and swivel. Just make sure whatever you're attaching the shell to can support the weight.
