Men's Leather Durashocks Work Shoe

These shoes are really odd fitting and not what I expected, not necessarily small or large, just not uniform to what I expected out of a 3E shoe. It feels like the manufacturer completely misunderstand the concept of offering wide shoes. This pair of 3E shoes feels narrower at the front than my other pair of 2E shoes. Shoe manufacturers need to realize the actual shape of the human foot. The human foot is wider at the front to allow toe splay and narrower at the back near the heels. This 3E shoe maintains a slightly dressy narrow front with a wider heel. No one's foot is shaped like that. There is also no reason to make this too dressy, as the overall design is too bulky to serve as dress shoes, they're fine as casual work shoes, which doesn't need the narrow tip silhouette.I bought this on discount so it's not all bad. The upper is real leather, so that's a plus. The sole is soft rubberized material, so I don't foresee it lasting very long. However, the leather upper is a great positive and will conform better as time goes on, as leather feels much better on the foot than hot/non-breathing synthetic materials.

These have been great shoes in the past. When I was still in the USMC, I never had a problem with these shoes; they were very comfortable and reliable. However, this time I've owned a pair for a little over 8 months in civilian use and the sole cracked all the way across on one shoe. This is completely unacceptable quality for a shoe that has a great name among many in the military. The real pain is that I cannot seem to find anything on the Bates website in the way of a warranty. Very disappointed.

I have purchased several pairs of these shoes. My husband simply loves them. They fit perfectly and they are great looking. I would like to get him something else at least some of the time, but he will not budge from these shoes. So if he is happy then I am happy. What is the point of getting him something else if these shoes makes him happy?Dot

My son got these to take to West Point. He said these are a better shoe than what he currently has for JROTC. He says they run a bit big, but other than that, they are fine.
