Weaver No-Gunsmith Converta Shotgun Mount - Mossberg 500, 835 (12 Gauge Only) Gloss Black
P.S.)Uploaded a picture[one on my computer desk!]...First...let me say that I am not a gunsmith; and I have no expertise professional 'college-papered' knowledge of the ins-outs of firearms...So now...I have a (Coast-to-Coast Master Mag CC880).12 Gauge shotgun by Mossberg: which is the Model#500 exactly., and everything is interchangeable...["Coast to Coast"]., was a small town farming hardware store here in the PNW., around the 80's give-or-take...It eventually became either Ace or True-Value[one of them anyway]...Coast-to-Coast paid Mossberg to copyright their store franchise onto the Model#500 shotgun...I purchased my shot-gun at the local show for $250...Since my shotgun is from the 80's: it has no 'pre-drilled' Picatinny-Weaver scope mount holes on top of the receiver, as the newer Synthetic-Polymer Carbon-Fiber Model#500 shotty's have...It also came with a vent-rib all-purpose full-choke barrel., of which had no standard Bead or Rifle, Combat, or Ghost sights on it...So instead of drilling holes into the shotgun's receiver., and possibly taking a chance of ruining/de-valuating/damaging the gun: I sought out for an after-market alternative to add an optics mount onto my shotgun...So I searched online for hours, days, and weeks---and found that there was basically only 2 different optic-mounts to choose from with this one., and the other by Aimtech [I believe!?]...I had some expectations that needed to be met from the durability/performance and quality---too the cosmetic appearance[e.g. I wanted it to look beautiful as if it was meant naturally to be on there in the first place., and nothing outlandish as if it wasn't meant originally to be with the shotgun!]...The Aimtech mount version looked noticeably weird/non-original and alien to the shotgun from product pictures., albeit was made out of better Aluminum-Alloy metal/steel...This mount!?, albeit is made out of anodized Synthetic-Polymer[Hard Plastic]., was ergonomically-fashionably inclined: in that the manufacturer of this mount?, obviously had a Mossberg by his side when he designed it...because it literally fits perfect without any spacing in between the mount and the shotgun., and slipped instantly on without any hassle or scratching too the finish of the shotgun receiver[Mine is Black-Steel!]...So I purchased and went with this over the Aimtech version---and very hysteric that I did!, and don't regret one bit as nor will you...I have seen only good reviews of this product., so this raises my hopes that it will last for a long time to come...I cannot contest either way to the Aimtech version., but this one is all I want and need...Now...this product comes packaged with everything you need!!! originally I was suffering anxiety---because I never did this before., but all that went away once everything was before my eyes[really isn't a puzzle/rocket-science!]...and it does come with detailed instructions[on inside of the cardboard paper package handle]., but I did not need them...It only literally took me about 3-4 minutes tops to install this[So easy even a cave-man can do it, lol]... It's simple!!! #1) cock the slide back...#2) unscrew the ("Button Head Ejector Screw") with a flat-head screwdriver [through your open cartridge-ejection port]...#3) lay the shotgun on the floor or in your lap...#4) take a hammer and a small fitting screwdriver and gently tap out the original/stocked ("Trigger/Receiver Pin")...#5) place the mount on...#6) screw in first your new ("Button Head Ejector Screw")which [holds the mount in place while you do next step!] from the package...#7) screw/put in your new ("Trigger/Receiver Pin") from the package[it will only screw in tiny way with the fitting 'Hex-Allen Wrench' before friction stops it!] and then gently hammer the pin through until the screwed edge of the pin reaches the inside of the shotgun's receiver screw-pin hole, and use the correct "Hex-Allen Wrench" to tighten/screw it through the rest of the way with the according nut fastener...#8)screw in the ("Nylon Tipped Set Screw") in the small hole on top of the mount...It's easy---literally!, and found my anxiety was for nothing...The manufacturers of this mount: went so far as to shape the screws/pins and nut-fasteners distinctly different as so not to ruin the mount and firearm., as well as the holes on the mount shaped differently according to the screws-pins...That is to say., there is only one way for each of them to go in their respective slots...I could not be happier in my choice with this...For $22 with free S&H on Amazon., where can you go wrong!? You surely cannot find anything better on the market for a mount: either for a shotgun like mine without pre-drilled rail holes., or for shotguns who people simply want to add some better stability/controlling and spunk/style/fashion/spec-ops tactical look too their Mossberg/Mossberg-M#500 shotty...I was pleasantly surprised to find that this mount., blended into my Black-Steel finish pretty good...This mount naturally looks as if it came stocked on the shotgun., and was made by Mossberg for the Mossberg's[don't know who the actual manufacturer/designer is though!]... All-and-All?, I am well impressed and satisfied---especially since this was a Birthday gift too myself on July 3...Now comes finding a decent performing reflex sight, lol!!! Plus., it is so lightweight: that I didn't feel any noticeable added weight change to the firearm...I also noticed an immediate easiness in cocking/de-cocking my shotgun with this mount on and with the new parts., as well as a louder "Ka-Chank" sound when pulling the trigger[gun empty., of course!]., which will help in my opinion in identifying usage-sounds of the weapon...Pro's)-Ergonomically Inclined[Fit perfectly/naturally as if it was made for the shotty, no spacing in-between to rattle or see-through, etc]-Mount's holes and screws/pins built one-way/shape [so you don't improperly place the wrong ones in]-Easy and Fast to install[took me only 3-4 minutes tops., but depends on how fast you work]-Cosmetically Stylish and Tactical[gives you that Spec-Ops/SWAT look]-Blends in and Covers 3/4ths of the Receiver[helps reduced sun-glare on my glossy Black-Steel]-Doesn't interfere with safety, cartridge release, etc-Lightweight[no added weight change from what I could immediately tell]-Comes with instructions and all parts needed[literally didn't need the instructs though]-easier to cock/de-cock, fire, and louder trigger-planking-gun is more stable-it's Practi-Cool and not Tacti-Cool-works on my (Coast to Coast Master Mag CC880) by Mossberg[figured it would though!]-Not to excessive and over-the-top., just right!-Didn't scratch/damage the firearm-Black Synthetic-Polymer[Hard-Plastic] Anodized Composite material[Good or Bad., however you see it---if you prefer Metal then get one that's Metal]-Low Profile [don't loose any vision or have to adjust your head position to see]-Can attach anything you want[Lasers, Lights, Fixed Sights,Reflex Sights, Scopes, etc]-The Price$Con's)N/A

Not only a good product but a great customer service.
I ordered this for my Mossberg shotgun. I have an old one for hunting and this fit great with the exception of one screw head being to tall and causing the gun not to function correctly. I called weaver and their tech support called back and spoke with me about the issue. After researching it they got back with me and said that there were a few Mossbergs over the years that they had people have this issue with but it is an unusual problem. They offered to totally refund my money and seemed really upset that I was having an issue. I didn't want a refund but for it to work. They then offered to advise me on modifying the screw so that it would work. Basically taking a file and taking the head of the screw down a half millimeter or so. They sent me at no charge a bag with 4 extra screws in it so that if I messed up I could try again and left the offer open that if I was in any way unhappy with the solution that they would take it back and refund it even after I tried to fix it myself.I deal with customer support daily in my job with hundreds of companies and have to say I was impressed with weavers. They did have to call me back as they were busy when I first called but they did call back and also followed up twice more on their own to make sure everything was working out. Every one I spoke with seemed very knowledgeable about the process and the gun. They spoke of having sample guns of all the models there that they could pull down and walk through the process with a customer so they could see what was in front of them as they did so. It definitely made the process of troubleshooting with them easier as we were both looking at a similar gun at the same time. The attitude was of the technicians and the manager I spoke with were all outstanding. They were all about fixing or resolving the issue and very friendly in general as I spoke with them over a 2 day period of time.Other than the screw issue which is supposedly very very rare, I really like the mount. It was a matter of 4 or 5 minutes to install it and very easy to do with the included hex tool and your own supplied punch and hammer.

Does what it is suppose to, but...
This product does exactly what it is suppose to do, and it does it well. It is made of thick plastic and doesn't feel flimsy at all. It was also a breeze to install, and holds a red dot sight on it very well. the only small issue is, due to the way it is mounted to the gun, you can no longer use a side saddle to hold extra shells. Fortunately for me I have extra shell storage in my stock, but this might be a deal breaker for other people. As long as you are ok with not using a side saddle this piece is next to perfect, and a great price.

Really easy to install
I had this installed in less than 5 minutes. It snapped right into place... a nice tight fit. You just replace a pin and a small screw that comes with it and it's installed. It left no trace of any scratch marks when installing it, as opposed to the heavy metal ones. Just make sure you have your weapon unloaded (with the slide back) and secured in an upside down when installing this, and you'll have no problems installing it yourself in no time.I was hesitant at first about purchasing this due to the polymer composite material... thought it may warp or crack. But, it held up very nicely at the range with full 00 buck loads. I have this mounted on my tactical Maverick 88 with a red dot reflex sight, along with a few other necessities... and this mount is half the weight of its metal cousin. And that little bit of reduced weight helps a lot when you have a full load and trying to get a faster bead on the target at early o'clock in the morning when you hear an intruder.Great product... great price... and FREE 2 day shipping.
