I don't know that for certain. What I can recommend is that you call Sears Technical Department and see if it is. I used the Amazon Technical folks. One individual recommended the wrong thing. I ordered what they recommended, tried to install it and made a second call to Amazon Technical. The person I spoke with then knew exactly what I needed. Our opener was purchased in 1991 and this remote worked perfectly.

Q: Does it come with a battery?

I believe it comes with a battery. The battery is a standard one (A23). The replacement battery is sold most places.

Q: What are the 3 bottons for? Light, lock, and open/close. Which are which? I think my remote may have the lock on...

A lot of misinformation in these answers. This remote uses dipswitches to program up to 3 garage doors. There is a complicated way to program all 3, but is included with the instructions. This remote does NOT turn off/on the lights or lock.

Yes, it is compatible. You can go to SearsPartsDirect.com and query your model number, as I did. I found a PDF Users Guide that lists this remote as compatible on Page 4 of the Users Guide, plus a "search box" where you can type in the word "remote" and get the same result.
