Columbia Women's Newton Ridge Plus Waterproof Hiking Boots

Great shoe all around. Comfortable, stylish, warm, waterproof and true to size

I couldn't be happier with these. I took a chance buying these a couple months ago for a camping / light hiking trip. I was afraid they'd be the wrong fit for hiking. I normally wear a size 10 or 10Wide sometimes. These are very comfy, not loose and not tight. They provide lots of cushion and support while keeping my ankles stable. I actually wear them all the time now to walk the dogs and such. They're warm too, I wore them to my Church's trunk or treat this year where it gets pretty chilly for a couple hours outside. They kept my feet warm and comfy.i would buy them again in a heart beat. Not a bad price for such comfy hiking shoes. If you're a long distance hiker and really hard on your boots I imagine they would wear out a lot sooner since they're not leather. They're a Faux leather plastic vinyl. Again not a bad price point for someone like me that hikes a couple times a year and mostly walks her dogs lol.

The great quality of Columbia gear shines through in this hiking boot! I've worn them for several mid-distance hikes (5-10 miles), and they are supportive, durable, well-fitting shoes. I love that I can clean them off and they still look new! They are also good looking enough that I can wear them on the trail and then out to lunch with a cute sweater over my hiking shirt. :-) I liked them so much after a few months, ordered a second pair!

Love these boots ! Especially because they come in wide width ! Helps with my Morton’s neuroma and plantar fasciitis. I used my orthotic insert and these boots were very comfortable for our treks in Alaska.

They took a while to break in, but overall feel good to walk around in. My heel slides around a little bit, and the toe box is extra roomy, but I hesitate to go a 1/2 size down since it fits so well everywhere else. After a long hike full of steep inclines, my heel was feeling it. My ankle was also bit sore where the upper laces tied, but that might be fixed by a different shoe lacing technique (I'm new to this hiking game). We hiked through ice, a little bit of snow, and some shallow streams. My foot was dry, warm and cozy the whole time. (granted there was no deep snow, rain, or deep puddles, so I can't yet attest to its performance in those scenarios)

Really nice boots, they are comfortable and secure. Sizing is true to size. The brown color is also really nice it pairs well with jeans or snow pants. I bought for my Tahoe trip and the boots did just fine in 2-3 inch snow. They are also lightweight very impressive.

Let me start out with: THESE ARE AMAZING BOOTS and YOU CAN'T GO WRONG WITH THESE BOOTS. These boots held up against all different types of climates and weather and water on my road trip and they still look great! We went to Arizona, Utah, Nevada; the Grand Canyon, Joshua Tree, Zion, Salt Lake. We went through water, dessert, rain, and mud, and these boots held it fine. The only thing we didn't go through was snow, because apparently even though we Californians were freezing our butts off already, the locals said the weather was actually great, and that the colder weather and storms were actually late this year xD. Anyways, these boots were extremely lightweight and required almost no breaking in. My friend had some HiTech hiking boots and she said these Columbia boots were a lot lighter than hers. They were so extremely comfortable and easy to walk in. The size fits as expected if you go a half size up, and walking through the river, it kept my feet nice and dry. I think it would definitely keep you dry, but remember only as far as the shoe goes will it keep you dry lol. They've also got amazing grip. Whether we were on wet stones, or gravelly and sand covered rocks that could easily give way and make you slip or fall they worked amazingly.

Iceland approved! Wore these on multiple hikes around Iceland in rain, snow, and ice. They are comfy and kept my feet warm and dry, with good traction.

I love these boots. I was skeptical about the other reviews saying the fit was right and there was no need to break in the boots, but its true! I've been wearing them at least twice a day, everyday since I got them. I take the dog for long ocean side walks, going in and out of tide pools, creeks, puddles, and mucky mud, and these boot have been perfect. My feet stay dry, the mud wipes off the uppers, and the tread is solid so my footing is stable even on the rockiest shore. In the summer I do a lot of mountain hikes and I think these would hold up to that use as well. They're probably not up to the demands of more technical mountaineering, but for day hikes they are great. I would definitely recommend these to anyone wanting a comfortable, waterproof daily walking/hiking boot. I'll probably buy a second pair in a fashion colour for the summer :)

Great fit, well made, waterproof ....these boots feel great and didn’t require a break in period. Would highly recommend these boots.
