This mini backdrop stand does just what it says. But, it really is only effective for seamess paper, or something that sweeps. If you are trying to set up a background, or anything that DOESN'T sweep, the stand is designed in such a way that the backdrop will never be straight up and down. Because of the construction of the stand, there is a pretty severe angle which may not be desired for other photographs not using a sweep.It does what it says - for sweeping. For a perpendicular background stand, look elsewhere.

Good enough for my needs! I needed a small stand just for taking pictures of my bake goods for sale. Easy setup, even though there was no instructions. It's easy to figure out. Packaging was crap. One end of box came open. The plastic sleeve on the stand was half down. No tape or anything to keep things secure. And one of the clips, I thought was missing was just loose out of the plastic and stuck on one end of the box. Quality, I mean you can tell it's budget friendly. But for my needs, I didn't need anything fancy anyway.

I use this background stand to hang a fabric background during newborn portrait sessions and it works very well. This is not meant for everyday use or for large backgrounds. If you're a location photographer like myself, shooting small products or infants, this stand is ideal for you. The crossbar is hollow, so I purchased a 6' dowel rod 1" in diameter, cut it in half and feed one half into each side of the crossbar when I need more background width. It's not a perfect solution, but I need additional width so infrequently it tends to work. If purchased for the right use this stand will serve very well. The 2 clamps that come with the purchase are great quality. Literally everything you need for your background is in this buy, except the background itself. Highly recommend!

This was shipped to me in a box that wasn't as long as the long bar inside it --- so it hung out by two inches all along the shipping route. Some rocket scientist packed this up (not amazon) and said, "maybe this will work". Ridiculous. What were they thinking???? Hey, get a longer box!!!!!!

Exactly as advertised. I use it to support a PVC backdrop for taking pictures of products for sale. Easy assembly and easy to adjust. We use it on a table but you could just as easily use it on the floor. The two included clamps are of the low quality variety but work just fine to hold the PVC backdrop.Time will tell if this setup lasts but I do not foresee an reason why it would not last a long time.
