These attractive silicone lids keep boiling water from expanding over the sides of the pot. The same size fits small pots and large ones. They are indestructible an easy to wipe clean. The design allows me to heat up water quickly, and then remove the smaller lid for consistent heat. Pasta, potatoes, etc cook without worries that the water will creep onto the burners. Update: I had been using my microwave's "pasta cooking function," even after I got this lid. That function pulses the cooking level up and down to keep the instructed "tightly covered bowl" from boiling over. That make the cooking time a little longer than running the microwave at full power. With this lid you can run the microwave at full power and NO BOIL OVERS ever! So now I can not only cook pasta "cleanly" - I can cook it faster on full power!I like to use my microwave's "pasta" cooking function. However, even exactly following the directions, I always had boil-overs and had to use a plastic tray under the cooking bowl to make clean-up easier. Stove top pasta cooking often required "watchfulness" (yeah, even with oil, etc., and other "cures"). I can't wait to try this out on stove top because it was an absolute "wonderment" in the microwave! And it is easy to clean - just a quick rinse-off with hot water! (I also used it as a splatter screen in the microwave and like its results with that function too - so much easier than "screen" type splatter screens! (The only drawback is I don't much care for the VIVID GREEN color!)

The spill cover managed a boil up on a pot of pasta I was cooking but when I tried to remove it steam escaped and it was too hot to remove. The cover comes in two pieces and I wasn’t sure how they functioned together. It would have been nice to have some simple instructions beyond how to wash the product.

It's 2 separate pieces so it makes hard to store with hanging pot rack. Other ones I have that are one piece and I can hang them next to the pots, these don't do that. The big issue is it holds a lot of water and when you go to remove it you're going to dump water all over the place doesn't drain back in like other ones I have. It is fairly thick but the issue is to reduce mess and it doesn't really help there the center cap doesn't stay centered at all and things bubble over the side.Might be better used without center piece.

I make noodles for my children several times a week on a gas stove, and often times the pot would boil over & put the flame out. I found this spill stopper & purchased it (elsewhere) last year and it solved that problem.I loved it so much that I purchased another spill stopper as a back-up, but I just bought a random one and it wasn't as good.I just needed to replace my original spill stopper so I went back to find the brand of the one I had originally purchased, so that I could buy that exact one -- and I found it here on amazon, which is this one.I just received it, and it is the exact same one I had before which works beautifully. It is thick plastic, and I throw it in the top of my dishwasher to easily clean it periodically. I am very happy with this purchase.

Love this idea and it certainly keeps the water from boiling over, however, if you need to stir what’s in the pot (like noodles), when you lift this stopper, the collected water spills everywhere. Thus, it defeats the purpose of trying to prevent overflow and water spillage. It’s a great deal if you don’t have to stir what’s in the pot after it boils.

This product is a perfect no-spill tool when boiling something on my stove. It eliminates the hassle of after cooking clean ups. It’s perfect when I’m cooking pasta as the pasta water often boils out of my pot and major flooding happens on my stove which I have to always painstakingly have to clean up afterwards. Euthanasia this, no more boil over and less to no clean up thereafter. Highly recommended this product to add in your cooking gadgets.

Work as stated, due to other reviews I did use a pot holder to remove from pot, and my boiling rice never boiled over onto my stove! So yes I’m very happy
