Save your money, get the Victorinox Spirit instead
I had huge expectations for this, but within minutes of handling it was left wondering what all the fuss was about. The tools open easily, which is cool, and with some practice can be operated one handed, but that is all that is good. The pliers are not ergonomic and have hotspots that press into the hand. One side has three flathead screwdrivers. Who needs three? Who is using flat head screws anymore? One of these three is on an awl/reamer which doesn't have a point, so it can't poke. Another is on a scale that measures a grand total of 3 cm on a sloped line. Good luck measuring anything. The third is on a stubby file that is flat on its edge, so you can't use it to cut metal. At best you can file fingernails on it.My current tool of choice is a Victorinox Spirit X. Everything on it requires a fingernail, and while it's very smooth, it's also two handed. I thought the Free P2 would be a nice upgrade, but goodness, every single thing on the Spirit is much better, with the sole exception of the replaceable wire cutters on the Free P2.I'm sending this right back and staying with the Spirit. I suggest you consider the Spirit as well: it is a much better tool, so much more delightful for everyday use, and it also costs less.

The next gen of multi-tools
The next generation in multi-tools has arrived. Leatherman is renowned for their exceptional multi-tools, they invented the category and keep innovating in the space. The Free series is the next advancement in these tools. The P2 is fully equipped with a straight blade, scissors, screw drivers, and of course the pliers with replicable wire cutters. The tool is well thought-out and the biggest selling point is that since the tools are secured in place with magnets, that everything is accessible with a single hand. You can be holding your work piece in one hand and use your other hand to deploy the tool to assist you in getting the job done. The two draw backs that I found with the Free series is that it is a little more slippery than compared to other Leatherman multi-tools in my hand, and the locking release leavers are extended from the side so it makes the tool slightly thicker towards the ends, so it is not as streamlined as other tools. The P2 is a little large and heavy for an EDC tool, but it finds its place at home on your belt when you’re looking to carry a tool to do more. Personally I keep the tool in my bag and carry a T4 as an EDC.

Awesome multitool. Initially received a defective unit, but the seller replaced within 48 hours!
I received a defective unit - The tools on the Free P2 I ordered and received were very difficult to open, (the major benefit of the Free line is that you can just gently push the tools open!) The screwdrivers on the non-scissor side were stuck together!! There seems to be a misalignment on the metal pieces sticking out of the tool (see photo)The seller was SUPER responsive and arranged a replacement. Received within 48 hours.Thank you for a great product and great customer service.

Next gen Wingman
I have owned Wingman and Surge for a few years, absolutely love both of them. I am a system administrator and I EDC my Wingman since the first day I bought it. I also bought my wife a Surge for her to work with various things around the house when I’m not at home, I don’t want her to play with large tools or power tools in case she hurt herself. The reason I bought Free P2 was because of the one hand operation capability and the replaceable wire cutters. The only thing I don’t like on my Wingman is the wire cutters that are not completely closed. I cut zip ties a lot at work and the Wingman really gave me headaches.I have seen countless negative reviews and videos about the Free P2, most of the people were complaining that the tools are loose when deploying the pliers, but I don’t seem to find the issue on my P2. Also people were complaining that there are too many hotspots on the handles, I don’t find it either. The three main tools I use daily are wire cutters to cut zip ties, scissors to cut labels and screwdrivers. I really like the improvements on the P2 over the Wingman, and I really enjoy the slim design of the P2 and able to open and close using only one hand. The only issue I have with the P2 is the price, it costs almost double the Wingman which is a bit insane.Overall I’m happy with the investment.

Easily accessible tools with one hand
This is the first Leatherman I've ever owned.Quality and construction is sleek; scales are textured but are smooth and don't offer much grip. Not a big deal to be honest, just thought I'd mention it in case anyone was wondering. The tools are easily operated with one hand and are secured with an ambidextrous locking mechanism. The pliers are also easy too open one-handed thanks to the magnetic retention -- just a little pressure to break the retention and you can flick them into place. This model (P2) comes with a deep carry clip but has about a centimeter of the handles peeking out (which is useful if you need to access the tool quickly).Other notes:-replaceable wire cutter blades-420HC blade has a hollow grind (great for slicing) with combination edge-magnet has enough retention to keep tools closed, but also allows to be opened with a light push to pop them out-weight is detailed as ~7oz, but you don't really notice it after carrying the tool for a while-very smooth deployment-has scissors (nice!)Overall, I am very satisfied with this offering from Leatherman and will look forward to carrying it daily!
