Good value for money and can use o download photos from my phone

Ordered one - came in and worked for 3 minutes then died completely. Could not access, delete the loaded files or anything. Amazon was good enough to send me a replacement since I had to destroy the first (had sensitive files loaded I could not delete). Got the second one. Loaded at 3.1 speed one time. Then when to load again, no matter what computer or files, this drive would load at only 0.65 kbps (or an hour for 100M). For 256G which this was, you would be looking at a week. Reformatted high and low level, different computers, did not matter. Still will not load any faster. Junk

I wanted to transfer photos from my phone to pc but even with instructions I couldn't figure it out and the C type plug is loose fitting so you have to wiggle it just right to get the light to come on for it to start working, it could be the one I got was manufactured wrong because it fits loose and my phone is 3 months old so it's not my phone jack. But anyway I got tired of trying to make it work , and didn't feel like sending it back so it's laying on my desk. When I got it to light up ,showing it was working instead of transferring the photos from my phone , I now have triple the amount of the same photos in my phone. If the C plug was a tighter fit it would be okay but if I just barely touch it the light goes off and you have to start over trying to get the light to come back on. Maybe if they sent me a different one ,to replace this one it would work easier but this one has a manufacturer defect.

Will not work for a Linux OS bootable drive, because it throttles it's write cycles to zero (see image). It should work just fine for any other kind of use put to it, like saving files to it. Just not as a bootable drive, because it bogs down the OS from running at a reasonable speed. A click of the mouse takes seconds to react to. If you don't know what I am talking about as per a bootable OS, then the drive should work just fine for you.I tested the storage capacity with a separate application just for that, and it is exactly as advertised.

So, I had a slight issue with this drive.. the description says it works on IOS devices but one of the picture slides in the description says it's not compatible with iPhone and iPad, this is half true.The drive will not work with any iPhone. This is because all iPhones have the Lightning Connector and cannot use a USB Type C device.The drive WILL work with a 4th Gen iPad Air or iPad Pro using the new Type C connector. The drive does not come with a software app you can download, so that means that when you plug the drive into your iPad.. nothing happens. Do not fear, you simply open the 'Files' app that comes native on the iPad and it detects the drive. I was then able to play audio and video files right from the drive as well as copy files back and forth from the drive to the iPad internal storage.I have an older USB drive like that for my last iPad and my Phone that use the Lightning Port. That drive, when plugged in for the first time prompted me to download the app for it and it worked that way.. for this drive you just use the 'Files' app and all is well. The drive works great and now I can copy movies to the drive and take them with me to watch on my iPad on long trips and in waiting rooms. It's a good solution for the money.
