Perfect in Every Way
This is absolutely the perfect night light, in every way imaginable. First, it's triggered by motion, and only at night. Second, it has a switch letting you select how long it stays on - 15, 30, or 60 seconds. No other night light I've found will stay on for 60 seconds, which is perfect so I don't have to flail my arms a couple times to complete my nighttime bathroom visit. Third, it's battery-operated with a long battery life, so it doesn't take up a plug in the bathroom and, with 60 second warm light selected, I have only replaced the batteries twice in the 5 years I've had it. Fourth, 20 lumens is the perfect brightness - bright enough that I can find my way to the toilet, but not so bright it wakes me up. Seriously, I can't think of a single thing I'd change, and I can't find a single other nightlight that meets my needs like this one does!

Great entrance debasement light
Great little light for those seldom used dark areas. I have them in several spots in my basement so I'm not blind looking for light switches. First one arrived quickly but did not work. I initiated a return and had a replacement in a day or so. Replacement works perfectky. Company reached out at least 3 times to make sure I was satisfied. I will probably buy again when I discover a new need. Does just what I need.

Getting triggered only at or below the desired light level is key - this one delivers!
At a recent Hyatt stay in Dallas I noticed when I got out of bed in the dark that a motion sensor light turned on, so I could see to go to the bathroom. I thought, great idea! So I decided to implement the concept in my own bedroom. Unlike others, I only bought two lights for my solution experiment. This one is the clear winner and does what I want it to do-turn on only and when desired, and turn off fairly quickly. The last part is easy, as there is switch to change to either 15, 30 or 60 seconds. I set it at 15 and clock it at 13 seconds, which is good because I would like 10. And you can even turn it off, or change your color to cool or warm. The first lights I bought, and I say lights because I could not buy one (they came in a pack of three) stay on for 20 seconds. Too long. Strike one!Now to the hard part. I place the motion detector light under the bed on the side I get out of, so it is in the shadow of my room light. The first lights I bought would trigger on in this location even when the room light was on and at maximum brightness (the room light has a dimmer switch). That is both distracting and wasteful of batteries. Strike two!I did not need a third strike so I bought this light (and later another for under the foot of my bed)! This Coidak does not turn on when my room light is on, but does turn on with motion when the room light is off. (I mounted this light to a wood block to keep it from toppling, as my bedroom has carpet. I also use NiMh rechargeable batteries). Now something for the tech folks, which is why I waited to get measurements to write this review. I measured the light levels with my trusty old Sekonic L-508 meter. At an eV level of -1.6 (ISO 100), the level measured at the position of the motion light sensor with my room light on (and minimum on my dimmer), corresponding to 0.875 lux, this Coidak CO823 did not turn on with motion. The first and other light I bought would trigger on even with the room light on at this position under the bed. So hats off to the Coidak CO823! The non-Coidak light I placed around the room and did some tests to find that it starts to motion trigger when the ambient level is 5-7 lux or below. That is over five times the level of the Coidak! My eyes are not that bad yet folks! In summary this is a nice light and I hope this review is helpful!

Great and easy solution.
At first I wasn't sure, but it has been very nice. I am in a rental, so I wasn't going to remodel the bathroom to add another light or relocate the switch. It is on the far wall, so you have to cross the dark room to get to the light switch. I thought about installing a light switch with a built in light, but this is much simpler. The battery is lasting, and I like the option to pick between two different light types. I like how easily it comes off of the mounted plate to change the batteries when needed. So far I haven't even had to do that.

Love this little light
Love this little light! I put it in my Little Free Library and it lights up whenever anyone opens the door in the evening or night time. I only wish it would remain dimly lit all night like a night light, then get brighter for 60 seconds when motion is sensed.

Only Worked Once Fixed
Straight out of the box this didn't work. I'm not quite sure what the problem was but my husband soldered something and now it works. Would not recommend, since most people probably don't know how to solder. (Once it was fixed, it works as advertised.)

Lasted 3 days!
This junk lasted about 3 days before it stopped detecting people standing right in front of it. Tried 3 sets of (4AA'S)! YES it takes 4 batteries and they are NOT supplied. Don't throw away money on this!
