Subaru STi Logo Matte Black License Plate Frame - SOA342L126 - Genuine OEM

Let me begin by saying, This is ‘NOT’ a cheap flimsey plastice knock off frame. It has weight to it and is made with hard metal (I don’t know the type, that’s in the description somewhere). The portion of the frame where it says ‘STI Subaru Technica International’ is guarded by a glass cover so buyers won’t have to worry about the sign chipping over time with weather exposure. It’s well made and not cheap plastic as I mentioned earlier. The design is very subtle and for me looks amazing on my dark gray metalic Subie. More for people who like JDM subtlety and not that loud Ricer look. It only comes with two screw holes and this purchase is only for a single plate frame, if you want front and back you will have to purchase two. I put mine in the back and even with only two screws it held tightly without any issues. Very satisfied with this purchase.

Awesome License Plat for STI & Subaru lovers. Well made and comes with all install accessories. (I personally had to go to the hardware store to get new screws, but this was due to the type of screw holes they used on my vehicle. Still definitely worth it for this STI plat vs others)

Overall I'm quite happy with this frame; it's a genuine Subaru part which is nice. The only issue is that it does not include longer screws. Like many others, the screws that came with the car were too short to accommodate the included pads and caps. This isn't necessarily a fault of the frame itself, though it would have been nice if they had included longer screws. Luckily I had some larger/longer screws laying around that I was able to use. As far as mounting the plate and frame, it's a fairly straightforward process. However, you might find that the frame touches the paint with the included spacers/pads. Rather than use the included pads, I used some thick rubber washers that provided ample spacing to keep the top of the frame from touching and subsequently scratching the paint. As for the included pads, I stuck those onto the bottom of the license plate area to prevent the frame from slapping/banging the paint when the trunk is closed. I only wish it had 4 mounting holes and not just 2. My STi has both top and bottom screw holes, so it would be better if it was secured with 4 screws instead of 2. Oh well.

This plate frame is great. It looks awesome with my white 2k16 STi. Really glad I went for it. Gives the a car a really nice clean factory performance look. No issues at all with the aeshetics, however, the other posters are correct, in that you will need to add some cushions to the back of the plate, towards the bottom to prevent the plate from slapping the trunk when you close it. I found some foam pads with adhesive backs at target for 1.29, they are normally used for the bottom of furniture legs to prevent them from scratching floors, they worked great and so far am very satisfied with my purchase. Im not super handy and I was still able to get this frame working perfectly, and its worth it because it looks sick!

-The real deal. I purchased one from Amazon and another from Subaru. They were both exactly the same, except that the one from Subaru cost me $35. -Very high quality, metal license plate border. Comes with all hardware for 2 screw installation. I really like that it comes with little caps to cover the screw heads, which gives it a nice clean look. -If you plan on mounting this on the trunk lid/hatchback of your vehicle, consider buying a small roll of foam tape to put in between the license plate and this border or it will rattle when you close the trunk. I didn't take of a star for this because it would happen with any border I would have chosen.

This is a truly a great quality product. Well made and decorated with the sti Technica label. This not made for the 2018 or 2019 Sti years and not recommended by other sellers for these cars. The bumper on the front will not support this frame at highway speeds and it will damage the front bumper On the trunk lid it will scratch the paint on the bottom by the the two supports under the plate there and even with rubber supports glued on will promote rust at contact in time. This comes from experience on other cars. To properly fit these plates,modifications are required, Back plates made of plastic or rubber has to be fitted on the front bumper with support put behind the bumper and then this plate can be installed. On the rear trunk a back plate also is required and spacers would be required to raise the assembly so that it does not rest on the paint. Unfortunately I had to return them as I did not want to re and re the front bumper nor re and re the back insulation on the trunk lid. The product deserves a 5 Star rating and would be impressive on the right year STI that they are made for: pre 2014.
