Very Happy I Bought these
This is my first set of aero wheels. Bought these to breath some new life into my 2009 Giant Defy. These replaced a set of Dura Ace C24 carbon and aluminum wheels. The wheels arrived well packed and perfectly true. The first thing I had to do was to install the rim tape that came with the wheels. I had never installed tubeless rim tape before. I watched a couple of youtube videos that made it look simple. Stretch the tape across the wheel, push it down in the center to remove the bubbles. It wasn’t that simple. The wheel has a channel running down the center of it. The tape doesn’t lay flat. I couldn’t get it flat without bubbles. I finally just layed it down edge to edge stretched and centered. I figured the tube when inflated would take care of the rest. I put two layers of rim tape down on each wheel. I then installed the cassette using the existing ten speed spacers from my old wheelset. My tubes only have a 48 mm valve length so I had also ordered 30 mm valve extenders. They were the kind for tubes with removable cores. I put these on my tubes after watching more videos. I used teflon tape on the extenders and the valves.Because the rim tape wasn’t flat in the center channel, the tires were really hard to mount. Luckly, I have a tire jack which I bought on Amazon a while back. Even with that, it was still pretty difficult. I got the tires on and aired them up. I had to use some soap water to get the tires to seat. I pumped them both up to 110 lbs. The front tire leaked at the valve core. The rear was okay. I sprayed soapy water on the cores to check them. I replaced the teflon tape on the front tire. It still barely leaked. The next morning, the leak for some reason had stopped. However, the rear wheel valve was leaking. I replace the teflon on that valve, but still had a very slow leak. These replaceable core extenders are junk in my opinion. Too much teflon and you can’t screw them in. Too little and they leak. I ordered tubes with 80 mm valves. I suggest you skip the extenders and start with long valve tubes.I was able to ride my bike around the block a couple of times. After sitting over night, the rear tire still had a slight leak ten pounds of air lost. I decided they were good enough to go for a ride anyway. The wheels are very nice. They spin up fast and are plenty stiff. They hold the speed really well and I think I can get a better top speed with them.. I put 24 miles on them. At 74, I’m not a very fast rider. However, I’ve been riding road bikes now since 2008. I do most of my bike maintenance and enjoy it. For the money, these wheels are definitely worth it. The Novatec hubs are really great. The front wheel will spin forever off the ground. The free hub is very quiet. The ride is very quiet and smooth. It’s getting hard to find quality rim break wheels. These are top notch in my opinion.Forgot to mention the braking. Not very good compared to aluminum rims. If you use the front brake along with the back, they are okay. Wipe the braking surface down with alcohol. That helps.Update: 8/17/23. I liked the 40S so much that I bought a second set for my other bike a Trek 6.5. This set is the 45S. I don't know why it's not available on Amazon right now. I'm glad I got one of the last sets. I had initially bought a set of Fulcrum Zeros 2way Fit wheels for that bike. They are really good wheels, but I think the Ican aero wheels are better. The Flucrum wheels are going to be a backup set now. I was running a Continental GP4000 on rear and a Gatorskin on the front. Both are 25mm tires. The Gatorskins actually run a bit wide at 27mm. I noticed more drag on this bike than with the 40s on my Giant. The Giant has a 23mm Gatorskin on the front. I replaced the Gatorskin with a 25mm GP5000. These run small about 24mm. This really improved the performance. I don't recommend going over 25mm on these wheels. As with the 40S, the 45S are a real pain to mount tires. Getting the Gatorskin off was even hard like it was glued to the rim. You will need a tire jack to get these tires on. I'm carrying the tire jack with me in case I get a flat. The aero effect of these wheels is really good. I especially notice it riding into a headwind. Coasting down a hill is really noticable too. I didn't think I would notice the aero much because I'm not a rider that can ride really fast. What I realized is that when I'm going 15 mph into a 10 mph headwind, I am actually going 25 mph. The deep wheels work. It's easier to maintain speed. Crosswinds are not a problem on either of these wheelsets. These wheels would be five stars if not for how hard they are to mount. I'm really glad to have these wheels available for my rim brake bike. I don't intend to ever buy a disk brake road bike. These wheels are going to be an upgrade to any wheels you are currently riding. I have close to 200 miles on the 45S now. For some reason, breaking is a little better on the 45S. Light, stiff and smooth rolling are these wheels. As long as they hold up, I'm happy. The 2 year warranty is also great.

Great Wheels, Great Value, Great Buy!!!
At first I was skeptical about purchasing these wheels but these wheels have made my riding more enjoyable. On my first ride out with them (45 miles) and riding with a small fast group (20mph avg.), the person in front of me didn't see a 2x4 in front of him, we were riding in the evening, and I hit this 2x4 riding at 24mph. I thought for sure I cracked the wheel or broke it but no, they held up. Luckily, I didn't crash and only hurt my wrist from the impact but all this talk of these being cheap Chinese wheels is crap. Since then, I have ridden at least 300 miles, my avg. speed as increased by at least .5 mph, and are still true. When its really windy though, these wheels hold up ok as they do catch a lot of crosswind but can still be manageable. I would highly recommend these wheels and am very happy with them. Don't be afraid to purchase these. They are great quality wheels for being full carbon and half the price that I almost paid for the Reynolds 60's.

Everything I know about these wheels.
I have had these wheels for less than 24 hours and i am already being bugged to write a review. I don't know why they would think I could review a set of wheels that I have had for less than 24 hours. Typically I would want to ride a couple of hundred miles on them first and not while they are still sitting in the box but they need their review so here goes. The wheels arrived yesterday and came in a box, no rim tape, this is the first set of wheels I have purchased that didn't include rim tape. As this is the only thing I know about these wheels that would make them the worst set of wheels i have purchased. 1 star.

Solid Purchase. Immediate Strava results. Time will tell if the investment is durable.
Update: Sept 2018 -- The free hub broke. See picture. Basically the bearings corroded and the freehub was not spinning smoothly and began creaking. I removed it and have contacted ICAN for specs for a replacement. Rims are still fine. However, ICAN customer service has been slow to respond. I am still waiting.---------2016 Review -- General: I am very pleased with the build of the wheelset. It looks like a good quality carbon production though at this point everything is aesthetic. I've only put over 100 miles on it and so far I am impressed. I've already scored a couple of PRs and T10s on my local Stava segments and I can attribute the performance to the wheels. However, I had just one issue. Initially, I tried to install my 11-speed SRAM cassette and had trouble. During my installation I did not use the ring that ICAN provided because I assumed that was a 10-speed adaptor. Turns out I needed to re-index my rear deraillier to fit the cassette. But it all worked out in the end. At 19+mph I can really feel the aero difference in these wheels compared to my original wheels. The wheels feel as stiff as my other wheels, just more aero. I sense that they also spin up faster -but I have not scientific evidence to prove that. All I have are improved Strava segments to account for perceived improvement. I'd like to see how these wheels hold up. So far, I am very pleased with this purchase. I was concerned about purcahsing these wheels after I read all the Chinese carbon-wheel horror stories. So far, via the customer service, and performance/quality advantage, I have been proven wrong. If this wheelset holds up over the year, I may be inclined to buy the climber carbon set or even a cyclocross frame. Seems like a steal. Again, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's durable...Customer Service: Excellent! When I received the product, it was well packaged and included skewers and brake pads. I was impressed. However, I had trouble with installing the 11-speed cassette. So I was online with ICAN customer service daily. Bella, their rep was AMAZING and answered all my questions within 24 hours. My problems were solved on day 2 of daily communications.Pros:-Price - cost per gram, this is a real steal.-Above 19pmh, I feel the aerodynamic difference.-It spins up rather quickly-Rather stiff, I do not notice any more flex than my Boyds or my Reynolds alumimum wheel rims-The Sapim spokes make a difference, if you can upgrade, I recommend itCons:-I had to re-index my 11-speed sram force deraillieur fo it to work on the PowerwayR23. But once I did that, i had no problem shifting. I would have given 5-stars if not for this...-Braking is not as immediate as aluminium rims (but this is typical for any carbon rim compared to it's alumninum-rim bretheren).Unknowns:-Durability of rims-Hub maintenance-Skewers - the lever feels "plasticky" or flimsy and I'm keeping my fingers crossed it lasts.-brake pads (I my try the Swisstops to see if they are any better than the provided stock pads)

Nice Wheels. Look Great. For the price you can't do better
I've put about 350km on these so far and am very impressed. Definite average speed benefit of probably 2-3km/h compared to the stock wheels on my ~$2k road bike. This depth of rim does definitely catch the cross winds, so if you aren't comfortable with that you may want something a little shallower - hitting a strong cross wind on a 75km/h downhill was a little sketchy, but as I rarely ride this type of terrain I'm not too worried. A few rough roads and wheels still perfectly true. These rims are wider than the original rims on my bike and it took a little adjustment of the brakes to let them out to their maximum width. So I can say they will fit Shimano 105 brakes, just! But if you run tires wider than 25mm you'll need to let the air out to remove/install the wheels. For the price I'd say these are a great deal. They look great, and seem to ride well so far.

Outstanding wheels for budget conscious rider
Wheels arrived to Canada within a week, carefully packed. Quality, finish was excellent with Ti skewers, pads, and spacer provided as promised. Even tension, responsive set, true after first 1000km or so with really good braking for carbon. Very impressed!
