Strong LED, very solid body (a little "big/awkward"), and a truly wicked strobe feature. Bargain price @ $8, now...not so much
For the money [$8], five stars. At this price point, there's little competition for this relatively powerful, well made (milled aluminum body) light with:a. Variable Focus--VERY large field of view (perfectly circular) in widest setting vs. intense "square" beam at most narrow.b. Tail switch (recessed) [Allows unit to stand on end.]c. Good brightness--I don't have the instruments to measure lumens; and I totally distrust many claims I read. BUT, it is about twice as bright as my 2xAA de.power light from Germany. This is a good, bright light, and will likely become my new favorite.d. Uses either three (3) AAA or one (1) 18650 cell (I admire 18650s, they are now plentiful in rechargeable varieties. But, for my light, I'm still using rechargeable AAA cells.)e. Variable modes: bright, medium, and a really wicked strobe. They have designed/built "a better, more psychedelic strobe" which I believe would really mess up someone's vision/focus--"you have to see it". [Mode switching may be most fragile/weakest feature--amount of pressure needed is not consistent.]f. Surprisingly strong lanyard, but likely failure point is where it attaches to body.g. "Waterproof" [?] I'm not going to risk testing it.h. "Crenelated" front piece. VERY sturdy plastic bulb protector, and the "crenelations" are (supposedly) a "self-defense" feature. This is a somewhat LARGE, and comparatively HEAVY light. That's the "design/build" price you pay for (a) 3x AAA cells and (b) powerful light. My old favorite, the de.power, weighs about the same, but is thinner, and taller. The German light is more "elegant" in design with a very welcome pocket clip.Question: WILL IT LAST? If it doesn't, I'll revise this review. Even though the price increased $2 in the few days since I first made this review, I'm still going to buy another unit. BUT, if the price increases again, I will not get any more.

18650 battery rattles around inside the body, cavity for battery is way, way too big.
The light is much brighter with the 18650 battery, and lasts much longer. But, the battery cavity is HUGE and if you are using it for a bicycle, after a while the battery starts to rattle around in the housing and of course the contacts wear out and/or break. With three AAA batteries it works ok but it eats the batteries up real quick. I don't think it's worth the money especially as competitors are equally priced, or less, and include an 18650 clear plastic sleeve that makes the battery fit snugly into the flashlight body.I'm past the return date and I learned the hard way, the unit is nearly broken and when I ride the battery jiggles around inside and it goes off and on and cycle in and out of the different modes. Even jogging with it in my hand the battery jiggles around and it's wearing out the contacts and bending them as the battery shifts, etc ... Wasted money. If it is for occasional household use, sure, maybe it's worth the money, but it's built to be tough and durable, and the design is just deeply flawed. They could have put a sleeve in with it but they cheaped out for a few more pennies profit, and, later, you have to buy another. So it's a win, win for them, and a lose lose for you.

Bright, compact, high power.
It is very bright and the sliding lens lets you create a narrow beam (like less than 6" circle at 10 feet, to a super wide beam (still bright).I don't know how long the battery will last in it, since it is so powerful. I would have been happy with something half as bright if it sipped energy. I've had decent LED flashlights which i didnt have to change the battery for 2 years b/c there were so efficient. Definitely don't shine it in people's eyes unless you want to blind them. Only used a few times, will update after 6 months or a year.EDIT: it has been 6 months and i am having an issue getting it to turn on. I put in new batteries. When screwing in the cap it would flash on for 1/4 s but wont turn on once cap is screwed in place.

This little light is a winner.
This little light is a winner. And a bargain to boot. I won't repeat here what others have said, except to make this observation: I have the larger Anker LC90 which i like very much, but this little light is very comparable. And it only has three modes, whereas the Anker has five (a pain in the butt). I tested this in a dark room and was able to fill a newspaper page with plenty of light to read (a plus if I lose power and want to read the paper. I have a 18650 charger and keep a spare battery charged and on hand just for such occasions).

Really nice light for the money
Really nice light for the money. Way brighter than lights I picked up at Sam's Club. Good size and the batteries seem to last for a decent amount if time.Only quirk is when you zoom it in the beam becomes an odd shaped square. Ordering a couple of more soon.

Super Bright - Perfect size
Solid build. Use these (have bought multiples) in dark closets, bike lights, camping gear... all sorts of uses. Much brighter than expected. Use it with rechargable lithium batteries, which last for hours.

Good Bargain Flashlight
This is a good LED light of the popular CREE/telescoping/zoom design type. It's bright & has several output functions, like an SOS/strobe feature. I had previously ordered this light & it was D.O.A. After leaving an angry 1-star review about it being a waste of $$, the seller contacted me to ask why I was unhappy. I told them the light was totally dead & they sent me a replacement light free of charge which works as intended. The only reason it didn't get a 5-star review is that I own two other flashlights of the CREE design/type which are a good amount brighter- but I'd spent a lot more $$ on those lights. So for this price, you really can't go wrong w/ this light. Taking the superb client care on the defective order into account, I'd say you can buy this inexpensive model with confidence- this company will stand by their product, so you won't be left trying to get a refund while thinking you should've just spent a lil more $$. So a GR8 bargain for this type of light & the seller will stand by their product- always good when buying a low-cost alternative to a popular product.
