It does what it says on the box and I haven't thought about in months.
I installed this in a Linux box to convert it from a home-brew NFS NAS to a home-brew iSCSI SAN. I haven't thought it about at all since I set up the bridge between the two ports and assigned it the IPv6 address but today logged into review a different product and realized that the absolute best thing you can about computer hardware it that it does what says on the box and that you don't have to think it once it's installed.

Works great with Windows 10 Pro
Installed July 2021 in a Dell Precision T7910 workstation. As per the included data sheet, you do need to download the correct driver from Startech.com or Windows will BSOD on you.

WOrks out of the box with Ubuntu 18.04
Like the title says, works out of the box with Ubuntu 18.04. Knocked off one star because my second card went into a Win10 machine and doesn't appear to work at all.

A dud, for me at least
Didn't work for me. Maybe this one was a dud. Installed OK, but then Windows disabled it with Code 43 it after 10 minutes saying "the device had reported a problem." Tried everything I could think of including multiple drivers, different PCE express ports, etc. Same deal - COde 43 after 10 minutes. Back it goes.

wonderfull card
THis is a very beast card, it just works! it needs driver from "startech" website but after that and a reboot, it works so well, and just look at it! it looks so beefy! will defently buy more!

worked out of the box in my pfsense PC router.
got it to put as the LAN connection in my PF Sense router which goes to a SFP+ RJ45 adapter in my Ubiquiti 24 port switch. Works great out of the box. no additional setup was needed here. Bought a second one to try in my Synology DS2419+ and it also works and fits perfectly. Comes with the slim plate to fit. Took off one star because the price is quite high for a single port. The ASUS single port is half the price... i did buy two of those as well and one was DOA. So I sent both back. Maybe these materials are better or maybe its just constructed better but I doubt the price gap is really that big in the manufacturing cost.
