I bought a bike carrier from Amazon thinking it would work for my Ebike. The tire holders on the rack were too narrow for the 4" tires on my bike. I tried it anyway and it did kind of work but not safely. The front tire turned but stayed on the rack even though it was tied down. I saw these parts on Amazon after this trip and thought they would make the rack work better and avoid the hassle of returning it and paying shipping. They fit on the rack perfectly and hold the tires well. I will feel much better now with a rack that fits my bike!

I bought this to build an upright support for my old Yakima hitch bike rack from scratch. The square tube that this will mount to is 1 1/8"... not a common stock item at your local hard ware store.... I was able to find some 1 1/4" square tubing aluminum at a recycle center for metals and carefully grind it down to fit. Now if you are using this to replace an old or broken one on a MAXXHAUL bike rack you should check and make sure you have the correct model.
