ULTRASOURCE - Breaking Butcher Knife, 8" Fluted Blade, Polypropylene Handle

Back in 2019-2020 (right before the pandemic), I worked in a professional butcher shop. I needed a knife that was easy to keep sharp, and had a perfect curvature for slicing through thick cuts of meat. Even now that my career has changed significantly and I now work from home, I still use this knife often. Just the other day I was cutting watermelon with it for my chickens! I still use it mostly to break down meat, especially since my husband is a hunter. This is an amazing knife to have in your arsenal regardless of if you're a home chef or a professional!

I wanted knives that stood out from the rest of my coworkers being everyone including myself had black handle victorinox. The quality of these knives is better than I thought and half the cost of what I was using. The handles are comfortable but a little bulky as I used to be able to fit 3 victorinox in my scabbard with these I can only fit 2, I’ll just have to figure it out because I’m not going back to my old knives 😂

Great knife for those on a budget or just getting into processing primal cuts. Knife is sharp. If you are going to process big pieces of meat, you need a breaking knife to make the job easier. If you are just starting out (like me) looking to save some money turning big meat into smaller meat, this knife will help you without breaking the bank. Sharp as heck and easy to clean. I got a smaller boning knife to go with it, and both are a huge help. I thought it would just be a luxury, but when you're working with a 40+pound piece of meat, the long sharp knife helps you work faster.

So insanely sharp. I bought this and another knife to butcher a full top round.It sliced through so easily and effortlessly.Amazing knife, but only after a couple uses I'm already noticing some dents and chipping. Maybe from being stored in my drawer with other items, I'm not sure.Maybe a sheath or plastic sleeve to protect the blade when not in use would be good.

Very sharp

I've been a butcher for over 15 years and now work as a meat inspector. I've seen a lot of good and bad knives over the years. I've used everything from Victorinox, Henkel, Swibo, F. Dick to lesser known brands like Mundail, Montana Knife Works and Icel.I have to say this is one of the best knives I've used so far and if the other UltraSource knives are just as good....expect these to go up in price!The Handles are great, by that I mean they don't feel too small in your hand and are slip resistant. I use it in a wet and greasy environment (Meat Plant) and am very happy with how it "Stays put"Now the important part....the metal used for the blade is great for keeping an edge. Not like some cheap blade that's sharp to start and the after stealing your knife 10-20 times feels like to need to take a stone to it.If I had to compare it to another brand I'd say handle of a Swibo and blade of a Victorinox.All in all a great knife, nevermind the fantastic price!

Este producto lo compré hace un tiempo y no había hecho ningún comentario hasta ahora. La verdad que está fabricado de buen material que mantiene el fino por un largo periodo. Lo he utilizado con carne de cerdo, res y pescado y no me ha decepcionado para nada solo pasarle la lima y listo para su trabajo. La verdad que lo recomiendo al 100.

I'm a cooking knife type of guy. I have no, maybe a little problem with buying a $200 knife. I bought this as a test to see if i liked this style of knife. It was inexpensive and available from Amazon, (faster than pizza delivery). If i liked the style, i would pick up something better. I received knife and really love it. Its got a great edge, great shape, fits hand well, DW safe and inexpensive enough that i could slash through whatever i wanted without fear of chips ect. You can't go wrong with purchasing this knife. I can't justify trying to replace it with a more expensive knife.
