does the job
Having owned some spurious soldering irons for soldering small components , this one finally does the job fuss free. The temperature control, neatly displayed in the handle, actually works where previous soldering irons either get too hot and burn out their tips or have inadequate heat for a fast clean solder connections . Admitedly the tool rest is a little primative but it does the job and also allows the supplied cleaning sponge to be clamped securely in place .The included desoldering pump and included solder was fit for purpose and the extra tips and tweezers were a welcome bonus. A generous package at an affordable price. Well pleased.

Actually Temperature Controlled unlike many others
Actually Temperature Controlled, unlike many others which claim to be temperature controlled but are actually just Power Controlled - so when you touch something metal the temerature drops rapidly. iron is just a little bit small, not a great deal of heat capacity.

Great Tool
Best soldering iron I have ever had .Works great , heats fast .

Decent quality
I’ve had and used similar soldering irons which have all had faults. This one feels like a quality tool, I’ve used it numerous times and it’s never failed me. Would recommend it.

Very Accurate and Compact for on the go!
I gotthis because even though I have a Weller soldering station for normal projects in my garage, sometimes its nice to have just a small compact soldering iron if you want to do something quickly in the house or if I need to fix something at work its much easier to grab this and go then pack up my whole station. and what makes things better is I've bought inexpensive soldering irons before but they had no control and they were one set temp and it was trial and error to see if it was up to temp and ready to use whereas this one you can set your exact temp. I am very happy with my purchase and this helps me tinker with my raspberry pi project I sometimes do on my lunch break :D

Four stars
Good soldering iron, comes with digital display which is clear and easy to read. Also comes with wire, stand, metal tips and tweezers. Has a manual which is easy to understand, but it's simple enough to he self explanatory. It's not too heavy to hold and is comfortable to use. The temperature control is good and it can be adjusted to what is needed. Is safe, fitted with a UK plug and is good value for money.

Fast Heat, Good Kit.
The media could not be loaded. I’ve been an electronics hobbyist for a dozen plus years. I bought this soldering iron for jobs when I am not at the workbench as I don’t like packing my soldering station or rework station to a job.The iron itself has a nice rubber grip and feels very comfortable and balanced. The tip heats up to 370C in just shy of 5 seconds (see the video), and as soon as it does the solder starts to flow, so it's not just the temp at the cartridge. It heats up significantly faster than any of the 6 soldering irons or 2 guns I currently own, and it retains the last temperature setting when you turn it off and on again. My current portable iron just has a dial for the temperature and the handle gets hot after 5 minutes or so of on time. This annoys me, and I only use it now for plastic welding with a chisel tip. It’s also unbalanced, and uncomfortable for fine soldering. The handle on this iron gets warm, but it does not get hot, and the digital indicator is far superior to a dial. It also feels good in the hand, so it is good for fine SMT soldering of small components. Most of my soldering is electronic components on circuit boards and maybe up to 14 gauge wire. When I need to solder anything larger like heat sinks or 10 gauge I pull out my 200 watt Weller. I’m sure this one will do fine using a beefier tip, but if you own the right tools for the job use them. The kit includes 6 tips, plus the one on the iron. They are pre-tinned appear to be good quality tips. As long as you don’t overheat the tips, and clean and tin them often they should last for many years. Most people don’t know how to solder and blame their tools. I say this based on watching people try solder in my 150+ member tech club. Heat the part, not the solder and keep your tip clean (see the video). The included stamped soldering iron stand is really basic, but really all you need. It is thicker than others I have encountered, and if it moves around on you screw it to a piece of wood. The sponge is sufficient, but I’ve never liked using a damp sponge to clean the tip. Buy a cheap brass scouring pad and put it in a small cup or screw it down beside the stand you screwed the stand into and you are all set. Just stab the tip into it (frequently) to keep the tip clean and tin it when you turn it off.I was pretty surprised at how much fine solder comes on the roll. It appears to be 0.8mm of 60/40, and this my preferred solder for electronics as it flows so nicely. I’m guessing it may be around 70 grams. Solder isn’t cheap, so this really adds value. The solder alone is worth half or more of the price of this complete kit, so that was an unexpected bonus. The precision curved anti-static tweezers appear identical the ones I use to place tiny surface mount components, but with a different name brand. They are well machined, close accurately, and of course are non-magnetic stainless steel. I already have a complete set, but the curved ones are the only ones I ever use.The solder sucker is pretty generic, but does what it is supposed to do with a good seal for the vacuum (see the video). I normally use braided copper wire to desolder and clean up through-hole pads. I do use a solder sucker when there are blobs of solder, and then cleanup with copper braid. This works as well as any solder sucker I have uses, and the back unscrews when you need to remove solder that wasn’t ejected by the nozzle pin.My final thoughts are, this is a comfortable, fast-heating digital soldering iron. The handle does not overheat, and the iron alone is well worth the purchase price by itself. The solder and the solder sucker alone will cost you about as much as this complete kit, so it is an amazing value IMHO. This kit and a little skill is all you need to get started with soldering electronic circuits, components, and most wires (and weld plastic).

Buon saldatore a stagno
