These bags were used by Swiss soldiers to carry maps, war plans and ammunitions orders during the 1970s and 1980s. We convert them into bike bags that can easily go from your handlebars or rear-rack, to your shoulder or your hip. They are great for carrying tools or day trip essentials! They are made from a heavy-duty "salt and pepper" cotton canvas. They close in the front with a full grain leather strap attached to the top flap which connects to a peg that is mounted to the front of the bag. We remove the original shoulder straps to add nylon straps that are both adjustable and detachable. We also add two nylon straps to the back of the bags that snap onto the handlebars or rear rack of your bicycle with quick-release tuck catch clasps. These back straps can also be used to attach the bag to your belt (there is not a built in belt like our fanny pack styles). Measurements: 10" wide, 6.5" tall and 2" from front to back. The shoulder strap adjusts from 33" to 59" These are authentic previously issued military bags so they may contain minor blemishes and wear from the lives they have lived. These unique imperfections add to their vintage character and tell a story from the past.
