Sounds great. No issues so far.
The volume control is pointless to include, but the mic sounds just fine. I've had no trouble with it whatsoever with my K240 Mk 2 headphones. Doesn't feel fragile or excessively stiff.

Works with Beyers, some modification necessary for the best experience.
I purchased this microphone to use with my Beyerdynamic DT 1990 Pro headphones. They also use the 3 pin mini XLR found on an AKG headphone. I can confirm that this cable does work and that the channels are correct. Unfortunately, the connector on the Beyer is 90° clockwise in rotation compared to an AKG. This means that, instead of sticking out straight, the mic points toward your jawline when plugged into a Beyerdynamic. The mic can still be positioned into a usable and relatively transparent location. I tested it that way for a while and it still picked up just fine. Alternatively, you can open up the ear cup, slightly loosen the connector, and rotate it about 90° counterclockwise before tightening it back down. The DT 1990s are very user serviceable so the whole process takes only a few minutes. This fully rectified the issue. It's more comfortable and you gain the full range of mic positioning after this quick little tweak. From what I've found in my quick tests, the mic performance is terrific. Sound quality far exceeds my expectations from a relatively unknown brand. The thing that really surprised me was how well the mic stays in place. The Vmoda Boom Pro was decent but this is leagues ahead. If you move it to a spot, it'll stay there. Before I rotated the connector on my headphones I had maxed out its range of motion so I didn't get the full benefit. Now that the mic comes straight out, I enjoy some of the most flexible mic positioning I've ever experienced. The kit comes with the mic cable and a breakout cable for sound devices requiring separate mic and headphone IO. I haven't had to use this yet but it seems plenty capable. A basic Y splitter would have probably had better compatibility with more devices, though. If the ports are too close, the adapter has to kink to fit. Too far apart and it will either not work or it could potentially strain the jacks. I would personally ditch it and get a cheap Y splitter if you need it.There is no windscreen included. I read some of the reviews of the other versions of this mic and the general consensus is that the windscreen was too loose and would constantly slip off. I'm not too sore about it being excluded in this kit. It shouldn't be too hard to mitigate plosives either through an improvised pop filter or careful mic positioning. The inline controls seem fine. I did a test recording and toggled the mute. It didn't make any offensive pops. I would prefer it only be a mute instead of including the volume jogger but that's a matter of preference. All things considered, I am very happy with this mic cable. The sound quality is great, the cable feels nice, and it is a good length for my needs (it may be short for some situations). It's cheaper than most USB microphones or the wireless Modmic and is tidier than running another cable for something like the Modmic Uni. It's transformed one of my favorite headphones into an excellent gaming headset.Affordable, convenient, good quality. That's a 5 out of 5 for me.

If you’re on the fence, buy it.
I’ve got a pair of Beyerdynamic 700 PRO X, and was in need of a decent gaming mic. Haven’t gotten into PC gaming so this is mainly for use with a PS5. The mini XLR connection doesn’t have a ton of aftermarket support so when came across this I was really excited. I was apprehensive about buying this though since some reviews mention it’s cheap, both in build, and voice/sound quality and mostly concerned because some people mention it’s incompatible with the 700 PRO X because of the way the boom is positioned.I received it today and I’m very glad I gave this a chance. Packaging is minimal and basic but the item itself, although not high end or luxury by any means, feels well built and definitely not “cheap”. Very satisfied especially given the price. I think it’s a good value and a good purchase. If you are in the same boat as me and own a set of Beyerdynamic headphones don’t stress. I saw a few people mention that you can modify the headphones to work for you but I would suggest tinkering with the boom itself. With a bit of gentle force the boom detaches from the metal assembly where the black plastic meets the gray metal. You can then rotate the boom 90° counter clockwise, or to the position you desire, press it back together and voila!Ok so build quality is good, and with a little effort you can move the boom great! But how well does it work? I had a set of Phillips Fidelio X2HR with a V-Moda Boom that worked together via a 3.5mm connection. I can say that this mic works just as good as the V-Moda. I’ve talked to friends while gaming and they can’t tell a difference. Voice quality is clear and crisp and sound quality is unaffected. The headphones sound just as good using this connector. So in summary, I think this is a tremendous value and a perfect addition to my headset especially give the 17 buck price tag. It’s made a good pair of headphones more versatile and now a fantastic gaming headset. I can’t speak on longevity yet but so far so good. I definitely recommend giving this a shot.
