Q: Is the 1/4” screen too large to capture shark teeth?

Hi, Thanks for asking. Many folks find sharks teeth with this size mesh. In fact we use this ourselves to pick up sharks teeth in NC. Team Sand Dipper

Q: Has anyone owned the smaller basket version for comparing to the bigger basket?

If you're using it for picking shark teeth, the smaller one is much better because it's not only easier to wield but it handles better. I have several of both. You might want to consider the flat-faced design, which we've started using this year also. When the handle eventually breaks (they all do) try epoxying it on to a golf club handle.

Q: Is this big enough for sand dollars?

Hi, Thanks for asking. Yes, most Sand Dollars are 2 inch to 4 inch and so fit well in the 6 inch basket. As a side note to anyone reading this that may not know about sand dollars - be sure to only collect dead sand dollars, usually bleached white and on the sand out of the water. Sand dollars can’t survive out of the water for more than a few minutes, so live ones if found should be gently returned to the water right away. Q: Will this breakdown to fit in a suitcase for plane travel?
