I'm hooked!
I am so into this series! I am hooked! Its the perfect combination of crime, magic and period drama. Which is everything I love. It's like Downton Abby meets midsummer murders with a dash of magic. Hopefully that description doesn't put anyone off! Haha! It's a good read.

This Eighth Installment is Completely Engaging
As we start the eighth book in this wonderful series, we immediately feel part of this close knit family group, as we settle into their humorous conversations, their banter and their love for one another. C.J. Archer's love of these characters shines throughout this book as the characters become ensconced in another plot, with twists and turns and betrayals moving through the chapters. Although humorous, this book is also touchingly emotional and poignant. As India and Matt return from their honeymoon, they have to deal with the awful Lord Ryecroft and his vile family, as trouble brews in a different area to the case they are solving. Catherine and Nate's relationship begins to spark, though I hope it will ignite in the next episode, as I would love to see their relationship blossom. I am really looking forward to the next one, as this series just gets better and better.

Good Read....
Another good read from Glass and Steele or Glass and Glass!... I read books 1-7 before and got way laid but during these not so nice times we are living in... I read from the beginning and straight onto book 8. Good characters Matt and India, Cyclopes, Duke and Willie (Aunt Letty too) and the rest (How nice would it be to be invited for one of there many tea and cake mornings, afternoon and late afternoons!!) Story lines are always good! and follow through nicely with one another.... Ready for book 9

Excellent
Another excellent book in the series. I was so engrossed in the story I found I was unable to put it down. Once again, Glass and Steele set out to help the police solve a murder. However, things have a habit of getting in the way. A most enjoyable read.

Brilliant story!
I liked this story very much indeed. It has a great plot, carrying on much of the scenarios from the previous books. I love the relationship between the "family" of Matt and India. I was slightly disappointed at the end, as it seemed to be at the end of a chapter - not the book. Such a long time to wait until the next one to carry on with the plot.

Not as good as usual
I just wasn’t particularly engaged with this book - there didn’t seem to much of a plot or jeopardy. It seems like a book preparing the way for the next instalment.

Another excellent tale
Each book can be read as a stand-alone but starting at the beginning and reading the whole series works best. I love the main characters and their 'family'. The unconventional members give the storyline that extra something. The magic is minimal in its appearance but creates the reason why India & her husband are able to investigate. I have fallen in love with this series and can't recommend it highly enough!

Changed Mats accent!
Enjoyable story, I would give it 5 stars but the voices and accents change from book to book. Its a shame!

Glass and Steele series is a must read
I was hooked from the first word. This series has mystery, murder and magic. The characters are well-developed, and I look forward to visiting with them every day. I love the history woven in with the fantasy. Excellent series!!

Nice story but...
Nice story, but I think there should’ve been more about only India and Matt’s story, I feel like these stories have become more about solving random mysteries than actually making some character development of the main characters, mainly the protagonists. It’s not because they married that now all focus should be on the others, they almost didn’t talk about things that weren’t related to the crime investigation. Also, India is in some kind of a limbo, I’d like to see her actively using her magic, having a fulfilling ocupation using magic and also to stop investigating with constraining clothes that make it difficult to hide and to defend herself.

Average bodice ripper
Was a great series but went down into the bodice ripper category. Maybe a fave for frustrated people with little imagination but the characters which were expertly written have now turned into what would normally be an afternoon soap opera. I'll try the next one but only because there's not much in the way of exciting fiction these days

Still going strong
It's great to get more of all the characters that we love. This instalment dives deeper into some of the characters that have been pushed to the store de in past books.

too short
What can I say? I simply love this series... I guess I'll just have to wait impatiently for the next release
