I've been using these socks in my own reef tank for almost 3 years - switching between five socks that I have - with no wear, no weakness. Cleaning is easy. The best way that we have found to clean them is to rinse them out when dirty and soak in a bleach water solution (diluted) for anywhere from 3 to 24 hours, rinse in hot water and let air dry for 24 hours before re-use.
