Know your child(ren) before sharing - Disney's Bambi can shock too
I understand some of the concerns of the folks who gave this book a bad review and said it wasn't appropriate for children. Truly, I don't plan to read it to my son for many years. But I can tell you that I found a copy in my school's library when I was 8 years old and it touched me deeply in ways that I think were quite positive (and yes, I was already reading at college level). At the time, I had a mischevious little brother who had nearly died of a virus and my infant sister had barely survived an illness 4 months later. She got sick when we moved to a new place. For me at that particular time, the idea that children could easily die was very real and the story was actually quite comforting. I could relate to the little one trying to get adjusted to a new home, I could see my brother in his antics, and I could contemplate the possibility of my own future death. Then, as I have always been in the habit of being prepared, I made up my own little box of precious things to take to heaven with me.When I was paring down stuff in my storage unit recently, I found my little box of treasures again and took it out to share with my son. It includes a well-loved, plush squirrel doll given to me by my Grandma, some doll house furniture that I made with my Grandpa, a rock from their farm, a photo of my Mom and Dad when they were dating, a photo of my brother and sister and I, a music box from Community Playthings, a pen used by my other Grandpa, and a few other items. The Littlest Angel story makes me cry just thinking about it, yet, I still think that this is a box that I'd like to take to heaven with me, with a few additions such as a wedding photo and perhaps my son's first shoes.Clearly, the timing of sharing the story is critical, as it could badly shock a child who is unprepared. Similarly, a friend of mine was traumatized as a child by Disney's Bambi because it made him afraid that his mother could die and leave him all alone.A parent must weigh the appropriateness and timing of many things: sharing the story of The Littlest Angel is one of them.Best wishes with your decision!

A book from my childhood
I was so thrilled to find a new copy of The Littlest Angel on Amazon. I wanted to get this for my 2 grandsons- 3 and 8 months- for Christmas. I remember this at my Grandmother's house and her reading it to me - often. It came quickly and in new/pristine condition. I highly recommend Online Servant- other merchants had sketchy reviews about the book not being new when they received it!

Artful illustrations.
It’s a lovely story which has a lesson for everyone to not assume how to please the Lord.

A timeless story to be enjoyed by all. Highly recommended.
A must have Christmas story. I have been enthralled by this story since I first saw it as an animated movie in the basement of my grammar school about 60 years ago. The story is timeless so don't be afraid to buy it. The illustrations are beautiful. As our family grows, each youngster gets a book for Christmas, signed, dated and with a written sentiment especially for them. This is the story of a little angel who doesn't quite fit into the standards of Heaven. This little misfit offers his humble gift at Christmas and then fears he will be ridiculed when his crude offering is compared to the gifts from the other angels. Then something happens; but you should read the story yourself.

Perfect Condition!
The media could not be loaded. This book is just beautiful! It’s an excellent size for reading to a group and showing the pictures! There are no torn or ripped pages. As I said - excellent condition! I hope the review shows the seller because I would not hesitate to buy from them again! I think you can trust them when they say what condition an item is in!

Sweetest Christmas story ever told
The story of a small boy who was taken from the earth he loved at a young age and sent to be an angel in heaven is both humorous and heartwarming. It shows the value of a gift given from the heart, no matter what the cost, and the importance of being true to yourself. It's a simple story that every child can appreciate and love, yet it conveys the message of the Christmas meaning like no other. I read this book as a child, and bought it for my own daughter when she was young. Now I have a 15 month-old grandson and have the joy of introducing this story again to a member of my family.

Took me back
I bought this book for a friend's grandchildren as I had loved it as a child (50 odd years ago). I was thrilled when it arrived - lovely story, beautiful illustrations and still brought a tear to my eye - but in a good way. Thoroughly recommended!

One of my very favourite Christmas stories
I bought this enchanting book years ago for my own children, and was delighted to see it available again to pass on to my niece and nephew. It is that rare combination of an excellent story and beautifully drawn pictures. The title character, the Littlest angel, is not quite five years old when he arrives in heaven and he is having a hard time fitting in. He runs everywhere, his halo askew, can't play a harp and sings off-key in the choir. Being so small, he always seems to arrive late to prayers and knocks into everyone as he arrives. He bites the tips of his wings when he's nervous. He just doesn't seem to fit in with all the other angels. He is finally sent to visit an angel of the peace to be disciplined. After dithering about, he finally arrives and is met by the Understanding Angel. He explains his woes to the Understanding Angel, and they come up with a wonderful solution. After this, the littlest angel is much happier and becomes a model citizen of heaven. As word comes to heaven that Jesus was to be born in Bethlehem, all prepare gifts for the new Christ child. The littlest angel worries and frets over what he can give that would be acceptable. The ending will touch you, and the story will find a quite place in your heart to stay, right beside Robert Munsch's "I Love You Forever".
