Smooth, Fresh, and Perfectly Balanced
I really enjoy this Caribou Coffee. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve found that I prefer a lighter roast with little to no bitterness, and this coffee delivers exactly that. It’s smooth, well-balanced, and easy to drink without that harsh bite you sometimes get from darker roasts. The flavor is clean and fresh, and you can definitely tell it’s a quality product from the first cup. It brews beautifully and has a nice, inviting aroma that makes the whole experience even better. It’s also a great value for the money, especially for the quality you’re getting. I’ve been very happy with it and will absolutely be purchasing it again!

Great Tasting Quality Coffee
Tastes great! I am definitely extra particular when it comes to my coffee. Please don’t change anything about the roast process - excellent quality. It’s a great price (for now), I will continue to purchase via subscription, and I highly recommend giving it a try!

Excellent light roast, very great coffee!
Caribou is great all the time! This one is light and crisp and fresh, still has a full flavor without being too acidic and bold. Great morning breakfast blend. If you're not familiar with Caribou it's a very popular chain of coffee stores in the upper Midwest US.

Good, but a little unusual!
I bought a few light roasts on amazon to get a bit of a sample of what's on here for taste testing. I've been drinking and nerding out about coffee for about ten years now and even briefly worked at a local cafe, but I don't tend to order my coffee grounds on amazon so I tried a few on here. Caribou arrived in a huge bag, 20oz really looks much bigger in ground form, and for the price you get a lot of coffee. My first impression was that it smelled fairly different from most light roasts, being fairly smoky and aromatic for the category, which is not a bad thing, but a bit unusual. It's a bit darker than I would associate a light roast with be, I would maybe call this a lighter medium than a light roast, I could see that really hitting with someone as the mix of a lighter flavor profile that lets through some more subtle notes with the smokiness being a really unique tasting experience. This is definitely someone's favorite coffee. It tastes as it smells. It's darker than you'd expect in a light roast and is fairly smoke-heavy in flavor but it's nowhere near unpleasant and it's actually quite nice with a bit of cream. There are a lot of blonde roasts that are exceptionally weak that can't stand up to adding anything in, but this has a pretty sturdy flavor profile that would stand up to syrups or creamers. I could definitely see this being like the only coffee someone's dad will drink because it's pretty interesting but not unapproachable. I received coffee that was not terribly fresh. I ordered this and two other ground coffee bags on the same day, and both of those had best buy dates in may and june of next year respectively, but this one had a best buy date of january 1st while being received on october 19th. I imagine that means it's been sitting in a warehouse for quite a while, which is no one's fault really, but it did result in it being a weaker cup of coffee than I would have liked. I would have really liked to have tried this unique flavor profile if it was a newer bag. I may order again to see if I can get a newer bag. I would recommend this if you like light roasts and want something a bit off-beat that's still really. I did really enjoy this and will finish the bag, but it wasn't my favorite I've ever had and receiving a bag that's clearly been around a while was a bit disappointing.

Delicious aroma and taste
I keep coming back to this coffee for the flavor and quality. Tastes like the finest Colombian, great price per ounce. Very fine grind. Works perfectly in a keurig or drip coffeemaker.

Great coffee and convenient purchase
This is primarily the coffee we buy and we always buy it from Amazon. We have never received coffee that was close to its ‘best buy’ date and it’s always packaged and sealed well.

Nice smell and smooth flavor. Our new favorite ground coffee!
This is our new favorite coffee after trying out a few different ones. Every bag has been fresh so far, and the smell is always great the very first time you open a new bag. The main reason we are sticking with this one is because it has a wonderfully smooth flavor compared to most in its price range, so we believe it is one of the best values.

Not My Cup of Tea..
With the recent price hikes on coffee, figured I'd try out some brands I've never had before. Bought the 20oz Daybreak Morning Blend, since it was nearly 40% cheaper than the 20oz Gevalia I usually buy (alternate between their medium roast House Blend and their light roast Traditional, which is my favorite). In my personal opinion, the Caribou Daybreak didn't taste anywhere near as good as those two, but I've certainly had far worse-tasting coffees before. With the first brew, I just did my usual 3x rounded scoops (~7 tbsp) and it was horribly strong. Moving down to 5 to 6 tbsp was much more palatable, but still a bit much. The smell of this coffee was very bright and punchy and reminded me of the good smell after opening a fresh bag of Gevalia Traditional, but for a light roast coffee, the Daybreak Blend tastes much darker than I anticipated. The grind is much coarser as well, similar to your average can of Folgers. Besides being much darker than expected, the flavor is just too bitter and acidic for my liking. With enough creamer to water it down, it's almost palatable, but nothing I could ever drink black. The aftertaste is also a bit unpleasant and lingers for quite some time. At times, the flavor tends to grow on me a little, but usually I find myself wishing I had just spent the extra money for a brand and blend that I know I'll always enjoy. Still think I might try the Lavazza light roast at some point, but will be stocking up on my usuals if/when the price ever sneaks back down. All in all, it's not a bad coffee compared to many others I've tried, it's just not the flavor I'm looking for from a mild/light roast.
