Awesome oil
PAI SKINCARE's Organic Carbon Star Detoxifying Overnight Face Oil is a luxurious and effective addition to any skincare routine. As someone who has struggled with acne and uneven skin tone, I was hesitant to use an oil on my face, but I am so glad I tried this product. The oil itself is lightweight and absorbs quickly, without leaving any greasy residue on my skin. The scent is subtle and refreshing, and the ingredients are all organic and ethically sourced. I appreciate that PAI SKINCARE values sustainability and transparency in their products. After using the Organic Carbon Star Detoxifying Overnight Face Oil consistently for a few weeks, I have noticed a significant improvement in my skin. My pores are clearer, my complexion is more even, and my skin feels hydrated and healthy. I also appreciate that this product is vegan and cruelty-free. Overall, I highly recommend PAI SKINCARE's Organic Carbon Star Detoxifying Overnight Face Oil to anyone looking to improve their skin's appearance and health. The quality of the ingredients and the results speak for themselves.

Better value for oily or acne prone skin
The packaging on this is simple, which, to me, actually gives it a higher end feel. The expiration date seems to give plenty of lead time, so the product won't expire before it's used. I got this for my son, but used it for a bit myself. It goes on nicely and absorbs well. I'm at a stage in life where I'm far more prone to new wrinkles than new blemishes, so this is probably wasted on me. It's a bit pricey for a moisturizing oil, though it does work well for that. My son has been wearing a hat a lot lately, and his forehead is breaking out more often (likely because of the hats). He's been using this for a while now, and his forehead is clearing nicely. He has oilier skin than I do, but this oil seems to absorb well for both of us, and may even be making him less oily overall. The gray doesn't stick around once it's rubbed in/absorbed. Nearly $60/bottle is expensive, but it takes very little. This is also specifically marketed as a once a day product, which means it won't be used up as quickly as other acne targeting products that are often suggested for use twice a day. If you've struggled with acne or its aftermath, and this is something you can comfortably afford, it's definitely worth trying. There are other products on the market that cost less and also work well to help to restore skin. Unfortunately, it seems to be a lot of trial and error to find what works for each person. I would give this PAI Skincare Organic Carbon Star Detoxifying Face Oil 5 stars for effectiveness, but I feel that it's unnecessarily expensive, so I'm giving 4 stars.

Overnight Face Oil
Like a lot of people, I am a little bit anxious about putting oil on my face. I usually think of oil as something I want to remove from my face, but after reading about this product I wanted to try it out. My skin is very dry right now, with the cold winter air outside and the dry heated air inside. I have also been experiencing a lot of breakouts lately, probably due to my compromised skin barrier. This face oil has a very short ingredients list, which I really like, and the ingredients are organic and natural. The main ingredients are organic black cumin seed oil and vegetable charcoal, which are rich in vitamins and antioxidants to nourish the skin while also having antibacterial properties to help with blemishes. The bottle comes packaged in a very nice box that opens from the bottom instead of the top. It looks and feels very high end to me. The fact that the product is completely black in the bottle is a bit strange, but when you apply it to your face it does become clear. I apply about three drops of the oil to my face right after cleansing and while my skin is still a bit damp. It feels very moisturizing and seems to absorb well, so my face is not shiny or oily looking afterward. So far, I am impressed with the way my skin looks and feels after using the oil. I started out using it only twice per week, but after having no skin reactions or bad effects, I am now using it every night.

Improved Skin; Beautiful Packaging
I wanted to start off by saying the product is very nicely packaged and the bottle is very pretty. I was really impressed with how high end the product looked upon receiving it. Now for how it actually works: I have very dry, sensitive and early aging (42) skin. The product did an excellent job of balancing the little amount of oils in my skin along with hydrating the areas that can be extremely dry. The directions are to use this product overnight which I try to do at least once or twice a week as part of my skincare routine. I did not notice any scent. So far it has not irritated my skin and my skin feels softer. I always use a toner before applying anything on my skin because of how dry it naturally is. As others have stated, It is not as moisturizing as other oils, so I also have to use this sparingly and no more than 2 time per week. It is a bit pricey but it definitely does what it says but it’s not a holy grail. Overall, I would recommend it.

A nice product but did not work for my sensitive skin
First, the good: this face oil is made of organic and natural ingredients, it’s vegan and cruelty free, and it’s unscented. It’s a black liquid, but it turns clear once it’s applied; it absorbs quickly and doesn’t leave behind any residue or stickiness and doesn’t stain my pillowcase. It spreads easily and only requires 2-3 drops to cover the entire face so it should last for a long time, making it a better value for the price. Now, the negatives. It’s $59 for only 1 oz, which is on the more expensive side. I have sensitive skin and my skin did not love this; it felt a little dry the next morning, and I experienced some itchiness and a few hives. It seems like a high quality product, but it’s just not for me.

Fantastic but more info needed
Face oil and moisturiser set. This straight away has made improvements to my skin but I wasn't sure about a couple of things. You get a 30ml bottle of black cumin seed and charcoal, detoxifying overnight face oil. This goes on beautifully, I mean it is black to begin with but once spread in, the colour disappears. It spreads over the skin with a minimal amount. Your skin is shinier and healthier looking the next day. Having used it a good few days now, I can see my forehead is back to normal after having dry patches and a breakout around my mouth. You get a tube of soothing moisturiser. It didn't explain whether this goes on at the same time as the oil or in the morning etc. I opted to use both on the night and a tiny bit of moisturiser in the morning after washing the oil from my face from the night before. This again goes on really nice and if you use it after the oil, a tiny bit goes a long way.You also get a small tube of bronzing drops. It did not say how much, where, when etc. Be careful with this as if you use too much, you will have an all over glow to the face, just like a highlighter, my first night using it was hilarious to say the least! After trying again the next day, I found a tiny bit, mixed with the moisturiser in the morning, gives a nice subtle glow to the face, I don't see the need to use it the night before now.I do think this is a good combo set, with the additional bronzing drops. The oil is absolutely top of my list when doing my wash routine now. The moisturiser is also brilliant mixed with the oil. The bronzing drops do give a nice glow. Having seen a visible difference in my skin, I would recommend it. Not bad for the price, maybe just more information needed in the set and then it would be more worth it.

Brilliant for my slightly oily skin, prone to breakouts
Don't let the odd black appearance put you off, it is clear once 2-3 drops are spread on your skin. I have slightly oily skin that isn't often good with oils and is easily prone to breakouts, but this is a very dry oil. Makes it a tiny bit tricky to spread but once massaged in, it barely has a residue (big plus!) so I can go straight to bed and not get an oily pillow or oily hair.I can see why they paired this oil with the moisturising mask, because it is ever so slightly drying. It isn't harsh though, no itchy skin or redness, it just dries out spots and blemishes.*** Resurrection girl mask ***I thought the small tube of mask included would be a tester, because it's small. However, it isn't a clay mask it's a sort of gel consistency and you only need a small amount. I use it every 5-7 days. I still don't think it will last the same length as the 30ml bottle of oil, but that's fine.I will consider buying this once it runs out. Very good product for my skin! I've used a few Pai products now and love them all. Some are too costly for me to justify but I could buy this and ditch some less effective products.

CARBON STAR Overnight Clarifying Face Oil + Testers (Moisturiser and Bronzing Drops).
This is my first experience with this brand. Considering the price point (£39.00 for a small 30ml bottle), I was expecting very good things. This is far beyond what I would voluntarily pay for any kind of skincare, so given the price, I went into this hopeful and open-minded.Firstly, I have to say that when the products arrived, the packaging felt very lack-lustre. The boxes are quite plain so far as design goes and do not have a 'premium' feel to them whatsoever. I fully understand that they are designed to be fully recyclable, but I've seen other packaging that's also 100% recyclable that looks far more appealing to the eye than this. It looks like any drugstore equivalent brand you could pick up for under £10. The products inside also have a similar 'feel' to them. This kind of packaging isn't even on par with a brand such as The Ordinary (who as many will know, is as a very budget friendly skincare option that delivers results). With that said, I gave the products an initial inspection and had mixed feelings. The facial oil arrived with two free samples of a moisturiser and a bronzer, which was a nice touch and very appreciated. I do have to admit the moisturiser didn't do much in the way of hydration for my skin, and I also dislike the smell of it immensely. It is VERY potent and unpleasant. The bronzer was a nicer experience - a tiny amount gives a good healthy glow, though there are flecks of glitter in it that make it unsuitable for use in an every day setting. It would be nice for special events, but not daily use if you don't tend to have a 'full' face of make up on.As for the facial oil, I was a little hesitant at first given the colour of it. I was under the impression the bottle was black, but no... that's the product itself! This was a little daunting I do admit, but it did not stop me from testing the product out for a week and seeing what the results would be. (For reference, I am an adult female of 32 years with slightly oily skin that tends to be a little on the hormonal side around 'that' time of the month, so I do get a few blemishes now and then.)The oil itself is okay, but nothing to rave about in all honesty. Having seen other people's reviews and experiences, I was excited to see what my own would be, but I don't really have much to report. I will say that the oil is a nice product to use - you barely need any at all, a single drop goes a long way, so I used on average between 1-2 drops for my entire face and neck area per night. It does tend to linger on the surface of the skin, so you really do have to ensure you rub it in thoroughly for it to be absorbed. There's no scent to speak of, which I always prefer with skincare. The black colour dissolves very quickly once you begin to rub the oil into the skin.So far as results go, I honestly can't really say I've seen any. There's been no change in my skin, no 'glow' to speak of, no difference to the small spots I have in certain places, and no difference in oil production/sebum. I don't really know what it's doing for me if anything. I like using it, but I don't see that it's doing much - and for £39 a bottle, I would expect to see potent and clear results!I'm not about to sit here and 'bash' the brand, especially since there are obviously people out there having far better experiences than me based on their reviews, but I can't add my name to that list unfortunately. Overall, I'm just very underwhelmed with all 3 products and the lack of results. It very much feels like any other cheap drugstore brand to me, and with no results to speak of, I can't vouch for the products at all. It doesn't make me eager to try any other Carbon Star products, let's put it that way.
