Description says stamp is sterling silver and the material is sterling silver but the metal is brass. Which is it? Severely allergic to brass.

They are brass. I have only been wearing them a month and all the silver color is coming off. It is brass underneath the silver.

Mine came in a bag I believe, I received a lot of jewelry in that time frame I do not remember anything arriving in boxes.

BTW, I am still wearing them have not lost them. If this helps. I have yet to even take them out.

I love these but don’t want the 925 or anything else stamped where it can be seen. How tacky is that? Please advise. Thx

Silver plated jewelry has an extremely thin layer of silver- in the microns coveringe metal base such as copper, brass or nickel.  The silver is so thin, it'll wear off with time and usage sometimes quickly. People with nickel allergy can get itchy rash wearing silver-plated nickle. Unlike sterling silver, tarnish on silver-plated jewelry is mostly not reversible  so be gentle with them. btw - this kind of jewelry may be marked with *something* but sure NOT with .925!  At this $ and style this isn't going to be sterling tho they may say it's "sterling layer or sterling plated"  Does not mean it has no value in your wardrobe; many great earrings are  "junk" or costume jewelry of questionable quality but many hold up for 50 years easily.
