Doesn't extend your base network, instead adds a secondary network!
Although this thing seems to work fine for extending WiFi range, it also acts as another router/gateway, separating your base wireless network from your extended wireless network. What do I mean? That means devices on your base network will not be able to access devices on your extended network without advanced networking configurations.Because this unit operates as a router/gateway, it also has its own DHCP server. You cannot configure the DHCP server at all. The configuration interface for this device is incredibly simplistic with very few options. Of the few that are there (5-10 maybe?)... it's a challenge understanding what some of them even do!!! Since this device has its own DHCP server that you cannot configure, you will have no way of assigning static IPs to devices on your network (that is, reserving IPs to particular MAC IDs).I tried naming the extended network with the same name as my original network, but this doesn't help. This device continues to operate as a router/gateway with its own subnet. There is no "repeater" mode you can configure. For anyone wanting to maintain strict control over their network IPs I do not recommend this device!

Awesome. It works. Easy intall.
Definitely 5 stars for functionality, ease of setup, and very cost effective. Frankly, my expectations were low, however, was i pleasantly surprised. Our home is on a slope hilltop, 1 story in front, 2 stories in rear of house, hence, backyard wifi connection was limited to lower balcony backyard. Anything beyond that and there was weak or no wifi detected. This extender changed all of that essentially facilitating strong wifi connection all the way to rear fence appx 100 feet from rear lower balcony. Wow.It was easy to install as well. Simply plug in the device into an electric socket about 10 meters away from router/modem towards area where you need wifi coverage. Turn on PC, on explorer browser, enter the ip address found on bottom of extender, onto browser. Click on link that pops up, and follow dialogue box which is the same as what is seen in setup manual of extender. Enter password of extender, then enter choose your original wifi modem and enter password assigned to your original modem to (synchronize or attach?) The two devices together. Go to backyard and enjoy your newfound strong wifi. You may as well add a new recliner to the far reaches of your backyard because that will be a great spot to escape. Im far from being a PC geek but with luck, this only took about 10 min or less to hook up. To enable cell phones or tablets, etc to hook up to this extender, choose wifi ID name that has name of your original modem with added "plus". For example, if original name of your wifi connection was, "wifi LA," the Wifi extender will be shown as, "Wifi LA plus." Choose this wifi connection and enter password of your modem. Youll be pleasantly surprised when extender gives extends your wifi connection.

You get what you pay for!
I gave this extender a week of use and could not resolve the dns error. No internet access. I am professional wireless technician for over 10 years of experience. The hardware on this device is great but the software and gui is not there in terms of quality and options. I sent it back and paid a little bit more for a name brand that has a better software development division. This was also sold as having 5dbi high gain antennas when it really came with 3dbi antennas.

Be sure what you're buying
I typically don't write reviews. However, I thought this piece of crap warranted it. Buyer beware. You have to have the repeater within 10-15 feet of your router. So if you think you're gonna plug this in say at the other end of your house where your signal is weak, we'll that won't work. I bought this thinking I could boost the signal out into my garage. I have a really weak signal there. This thing would attach to my router, but failed to do anything. It said it was too far from the router. So I kept moving it closer and closer until I finally had it in the same room as my router. And guess what, by then, it wouldn't broadcast a signal as strong as my router to my garage. So, it's a huge dissappointment.

Well worth the money
My AT&T free Netgear WiFi extender used to drop signal every 20 mins and was driving me crazy. I decided to try this extender instead, was able to set it up in 5 min, and so far it completely resolved the problem. I can't comment on how long this item last as I've only had it for a week, but so far it gave me zero problem, and I'm happy with this purchase.

Works pretty good and range is good
Works pretty good and range is good. Setting up is a little hard as you need to use a computer to access the IP address to fully set up. Good product for a good price

Helped get wifi to my garage.
Took a little while to setup as the english translation wasn't overly clear on a couple of points concerning naming the extenders. Added two to my network so I could get signal out in my garage which is on the opposite side of the house from my router.

Does what is is supposed to do
Easy and fast set-up. Shows up as wifi option on all my devices for which it was intended (those in the back of my plaster-walled house). Works flawlessly.
