The Migraine Relief Plan: An 8-Week Transition to Better Eating, Fewer Headaches, and Optimal Health [Weaver MPH CWHC, Stephanie] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. The Migraine Relief Plan: An 8-Week Transition to Better Eating, Fewer Headaches, and Optimal Health Review: A Very Comprehensive Guide to the Migraine Diet - If you want a very well designed and comprehensive guide to get yourself motivated and organized to start and stay on a migraine diet, this is the book for you. The author herself suffers from migraines and Meniere's so she has personally gone through the process of altering her own diet to help decrease the symptoms of these health problems. She walks you through a week by week plan that goes gently into this new way of eating and altering your life style. You don't have to go cold turkey unless you want to. There is even a Facebook group for this book where the author answers questions and posts videos of information and recipes. I have been on the diet for 2 months now and have seen a decrease in the symptoms of vestibular migraines for myself. I plan to stay on the diet for the full 6 months recommended by the book before I follow the book's plan to reintroduce foods. This isn't just a list of foods you can't eat. There are lists of foods you can eat as well as neat recipes that use those foods. I'm really thankful I bought this book. I showed it to my doctor and he liked it well enough to write down the title, author, etc. to be able to recommend it to other patients. UPDATE: It has now been a little over one year since i bought this book and started to follow the plan/diet. I have mostly stayed within the baseline of the diet all this time because i believe that the healthy guidelines i've learned from this book have helped to lessen the chronic vestibular migraine symptoms i've had. I am so thankful i found this book on desertcart when i was looking for more information on migraine diets than the 2 page handout i was given by a doctor. This book and the support i've received in the companion Facebook group (group's name is the title of the book) from the author herself and other members have helped me a great deal. Review: Learn your way through the complex world of Migraine Food Triggers - Stephanie Weaver has worked very hard to create a comprehensive plan to help migraine sufferers overcome their dietary triggers for getting migraines. If you haven't been able to get a handle on your food triggers before and suffer from migraines then this book offers a great way to try and find some relief from the pain. She gives extensive lists of foods and lots of wonderful recipes that fit within the plan and are reasonably easy to make and taste delicious. After you've mastered the basic concepts you can spread out a little and do elimination testing on various foods to see if you can add them back into your diet without any issues. I personally can eat some of the foods she suggests avoiding without issue, but I also have a few very odd migraine triggers that don't bother most people (green bell peppers I'm looking at you!). If you don't know where to start - this is the place. Full disclosure - I tested some of the recipes in this book for her. I then bought the book from desertcart at full price for my own use and have also shared a copy with friends who had great success using the plan.

Learn your way through the complex world of Migraine Food Triggers

If I could, I would give this book 100 stars, take that back a million stars. Do you suffer from migraines.? Do they interfere with every part of your life? Do you spend days in bed in pain, throwing up, and feeling utterly miserable. That was me less than a year ago. I started the diet in January 2019 after spending Christmas Day in bed. I was able to stay up for 2 hours Christmas morning to watch my 9 year old daughter open presents but went to bed right after. If you were like me, just dreading the next migraine, not knowing when it would strike, and tired of taking painkillers that didn't even take the edge off the pain, or throwing up the pills before they could take effect then YOU MUST READ THIS BOOK! Don't wait, life is too precious. I can say that after 30+ years of living with migraines, I now am living migraine free. BUT, it isn't easy. I found that most of the food items that are on the "trigger" list were food items that I loved, that I craved. You have to give up a lot, no caffeine, no sugar, no alcohol, no gluten, no processed food, no soy, no MSG, no chocolate, no artificial sweeteners but the upside is NO MIGRAINES! And the added perk of losing weight! However, if after 6-7 months of being on the diet you decide to cheat, be prepared, because you will get a migraine. I thought to myself, this is so hard, is it worth living this way, I am so happy to not have any migraines but...I miss Thai food soooo much. So, I went out to a Thai restaurant, had dinner on Monday and ended up with a migraine Wednesday night and vomited a few times. Granted, the migraine lasted less than 24 hours when prior to going on the diet my migraines were lasting up to 3 days, but still I was miserable. If you love yourself, and don't want to get any more migraines, and don't want to miss out on any more family time then just do it. Buy the book and follow it. I did not use the 8 week method. I went cold turkey. I read the list of items that were to be eliminated and I eliminated them from my diet immediately. You will still be getting migraines, albeit less frequently, the first 3 months but don't be discouraged. Keep following the plan and the migraines will become less and less intense until the day you realize you just aren't getting them anymore. I have had a few "headaches" but a headache is nothing compared to a real migraine. You take a couple Aleve and the headache is gone within the hour. So don't waste another day of your life suffering. Buy this book now and just do it! The only question I have is why don't our doctors tell us that we can control our pain and suffering by following a restricted diet. Are they afraid too many patients won't follow it? Why not give us the option?? You will thank me a million times over if you just get this book!

THE book, A MUST HAVE, if you have migraine variations of any kind!
I've had auras, followed by headaches/aphasia/bowel disturbances/foggy thinking for several years, and it's been increasing in frequency. So I saw a neurologist who showed me this book, which I immediately ordered from Amazon. I never knew that all those various symptoms were part of "migraine variant". This book has changed my life. I log what I eat and track how I feel, and what is going on with the weather that day. I drink much more water, and am avoiding the necessary foodstuffs, except caffeine and sugar, which I am slowly cutting down. Best of all it has kick started me back into my daily mindfulness and relaxation meditations, and MORE exercise! In just a few days, my foggy mind cleared and I actually feel my old energy returning! I am more enthusiastic and am finding to my delight that just going with the flow and being appreciative of all I have is returning me to a self I thought was gone forever! I now know I'm not a hypochondriac! Plus, she has a Travel Guide, because many of us get sick on airplanes! She has loads of other resources, too. And I'm reading Counterclockwise by Ellen Langer, because I want to get out of thinking I'm a "migraine sufferer" and jump right into celebrating my brain, as Stephanie puts for herself is a "Maserati brain" and has specific needs to keep it in tune! Stephanie writes with great humor, and eases the reader very slowly and gently into following her plan. Which for me, is life-saving, because I want to live happily for the rest of my time here on this planet! She deserves a gold medal for doing this, and is the most generous person with her time to actually put her findings to the page!

I think this book could be good for someone who has not done any food elimination ...
One of my primary reasons for purchasing this book was to find recipes that are free of migraine triggers. I had high hopes based on other reviews, but many of the recipes have common migraine triggers such as tomato, citrus, dairy, etc. As for the 8-week plan, I think this book could be good for someone who has not done any food elimination and is just starting the process (the only reason I'm giving it 3 stars); through the process of trial and error, I've already gone through those steps. Overall, this book was really not very helpful for me.

A must have for migraine sufferers!!!!!
I have chronic migraines and am quite a healthy person. We started striving to be vegan a few years back and since the last year my migraines were out of control. I bought this book and didn’t realize that slot of healthy foods I had added were actually migraine triggers like avocados, bananas, nuts, dates of which I was eating in a daily basis. Well, since receiving this book I completely went in and am eating exactly what is on the ok list and removed everything else. Being that I was already eating quite clean, it wasn’t that hard, but meant reinventing my eating habits, recipes which this part is a bit overwhelming but a must. I began Thursday at 100% and am already feeling less inflammation and shoulder/neck pain, and less head fog. I would highly recommend this book to anyone suffering from migraines. A must have. Thank you fir your help, guidance and dedication in writing this book, I can’t wait to see how I will feel in 6 months from now!!!!

What? My Vertigo is Really a Migraine?
From those words in the Dr.’s office, my idea of what was happening to me was literally and figuratively turned on it’s head. What was I to do now? How do I live with being dizzy and in a constant state of nausea? Then my Dr recommended The Migraine Relief Plan book. Stephanie Weaver shares her migraine story and shows how she determined not to let herself or her life be defined by migraines. With this book I too, can determine my health outcomes and confidently advocate for how to deal with my migraines. Filled with information, this book is the coach I need beside me as I start doing the necessary things to recognize what triggers my migraines and how to keep them at bay. I can’t thank you enough!
