The wheels do not lock, as far as I know, but the fit is tight enough, with a mattress, that the trundle stays put. This is especially true on carpet. My grandchildren have never had an issue with it rolling.

I have a pb catalina bed. would a regular twin mattress fit this trundle? other reviews say to get a slim mattress. what dimension mattress approx.?

It looks like our bed is a pb kids catalina twin and this does fit well; the mattress would need to be 6" thick or less to fit by my measurement.
