Excellent book.....but...
I recommend this book, and I am giving it 5 stars but it has certain issues.First of all, the inside of the book contains beautiful illustrations. Isn't that what you want to inspire you when you are studying Magick which after all is an art and a science? However, the cover doesn't live up to the beauty of the inside of the book. I hope they remedy this in a future edition.Secondly there are a few mistakes/and/or potential mistakes in the book which I will try to list.1. p. 67 shows illustrations of both invoking and banishing pentagrams of the four elements. All the banishing pentagrams are shown incorrectly. You might have to look that up either online or in another source.2. p. 71 shows the hexagrams used in the Hexagram rituals. The water invoking and water banishing hexagrams are used as listed by some people, but they are different in other sources. I changed mine. I suppose this might be a personal preference.Other than that, this is a must have book for your collection.I think you will enjoy it if you enjoy magick.

I bought this when it was first released~
And my, how it has gone up in price. First, the original publication was a much better book. Once the first edition was a huge success, the next print was done by another publishing company. The very first publication, (which I have), has a much sturdier binding. I purchased another to use as I am keeping my original, First Edition stored safely. The second printing has a horrible problem with the binding. The second that I purchased, here, this particular one, has the binding separated from the book. I placed that one into storage as well, and purchased a new edition. The new one has the same information, but the original edition, WHEW! It is stunning and beautiful, magickal and filled with an astounding amount of information. I highly recommend this book. (If you're really going for beauty and have the resources, get the original First Edition.

Pagan/Wiccan Instruction Manual
An Amazing Hand-book/Reference Guide For beginners of the craft and novices alike. It has many things my mentors taught me about the Magick Arts summed up I'm one book. I would recommend this highly because it has everything you need to know, or things that you may already know but need a refreshment on. Do pick apart the details and understand how some of the material applies to your practice and do take this material serious. This is not a suggestive book, treat it like a manual and Implement what feels right to you.

Same information... Keep your First Edition safe...
This title has the same information as the First Edition. If you don't have the resources, or already have the First Edition of this work, and want to preserve it, this is the way to go!

Great book, I feel like it's a concise quick easy version of Richard Cavendish' "Dark Arts", so if you want to read that to really get an overview of this subject but need a quick book to just get you started then this book is the ticket!

Awesome little book.
The vintage look of the pages plus the illustrations throughout the book make the overall reading experience very enjoyable. Lots of great, right to the point information on alot that you would want to know right away.

A great text for both the beginner and experienced Magician
I own both the original red imitation leather edition with the gold embossed wizard on the front that was originally published way back in 2002, in addition to this recently published 'Vintage Edition' in 2012. The new 'Vintage Edition' is a big improvement on what was already a well written, straightforward, practical and informative text on high magic. The lettering and layout of the text has been significantly improved with ritual sections flowing much better and includes many additional colour illustrations. It really is a great text, which presents a working system of high magic that fits in with the grimoire tradition and includes some elements of the Golden Dawn (for example the inclusion of the Lesser Ritual of Pentagram and Hexagram). However it is worth noting that the tools and correspondences are in line with traditional magic rather than Golden Dawn attributions, e.g. the wand traditionally corresponds to air, not fire as Golden Dawn influenced magicians teach. The two parts of the book that are really useful are the sections on ritual tool consecration and the section on talismans. The vast majority of books on magic skip over these very important and effective aspects of high magic. In addition to this, throughout the text there are accurate and nicely illustrated tables of correspondences, which are incredibly useful when you start practicing. If you are new to the subject of high magic I would suggest you start reading as many books as possible on the subject before starting to practice, for example Agrippa's 'Three Books of Occult Philosophy' or Francis Barrett's 'The Magus'. When you do finally come round to practice after a time of extensive reading about the area, this book is a good book to follow. The sections on Tarot and Alchemy although quite interesting, are very short and I suggest if you would like learn those two areas you would be best looking at other books. Perhaps some of the more New Age parts (e.g chakras etc) of book could have been omitted to retain focus on Western High Magic. There is so much information in such a small book and the price is great for a hardback book when many occult publishers over charge for thin paperbacks filled with drivel. The only other book that is similar to this one textually on the market is Skinner and Kings 'Techniques of High Magic,' which came long before in the 1970s. It features many of the same chapters. However this book really does stand out on its own and will stand you in good stead.

A Must Have
Many, MANY, years ago I used to have 'Techniques of High Magic,' which was a great book; I bought THIS book "The Secrets Of High Magic" to have some catch up. What a great little book, plenty of interesting information, easy to read and understand, (even for a novice maybe?) and the price is great when many occult publishers over charge for thin paperbacks filled with dribble.

Perfekt
Überraschend gutes Kompendium zum genetischen Weg, das einerseits kurzgefasst und komprimiert ist, andererseits dabei gleichzeitig in die Tiefe geht. Sehr schönes Layout!
