His contributions have been significant but among his many works this one is a gem. I love the vintage packaging - I'm a sucker for a great cover and book design but this book would be of tremendous value even if it came as a bare manuscript. I found his instructions clear, easy to follow and understand. I'm not a "tools" type of person myself but I do use them from time to time and this book added considerably to my appreciation of them. An experienced, seasoned medium may not enjoy the book as much as a novice but I would recommend it to anyone regardless of the person's level of experience because it is a valuable reference work. Review: Informative and very readable - Informative and interesting I may try to put some of these lessons into practice but we'll just have to wait and see

It is a good beginners books
Generally I don't care much for Raymond Buckland's works, but this book was decent. It is a good beginners books, but if you are well versed in mediumship, you may want to seek a more extensive coverage of the subject. All i all, it is a good book, clearly written and easily understandable.

Don't order around the holiday ๐คฃ
My only advice is, don't make a last minute holiday order cuz omgs ๐ฐ, I thought I wasn't gonna get this book but it finally came in! I bought a lightly used one all pages are accounted for, the book has some footnotes on some pages and the top is yellow but I like it's character.

Solid piece of work on the subject.
It covers a broad spectrum of ways to communicate. Including several uses for the multiple tools of the trade (so to speak.) Some I've never heard of! I learned something new and it was all together enjoyable. His expertise speaks for itself.

Want to read it again
This is one of those books you have to read again and again. Not because you didn't comprehend the book, because it was so interesting that you want to read it again.

Perfect for the absolute newbie.
A fun little book that gives just enough information on any one (of many) ways to connect with the spirit world. There are 18 techniques or methods covered in the book. My suggestion is to try one and if it works for you, buy more books on that particular method. I recommend this book for the complete newbie...advanced mediums will find this book tedious and boring. Buying a used copy is probably a wise investment if you are curious about this book, full price was a little much. Either way, I am happy that I read it....

A good overview
A good introduction into various methods of spirit communication. None of the areas covered are explored in great detail but a nice read as an overview of the subject or for the novice looking to find the method that best suits them.

Good book for talking with spirits
The one thing I didnโt know about was using a candle and moving a piece of paper above the flame to get black pattens from the candle. So far I have found forms of people, faces, and symbols and numbers. This impressed me and there are other methods I am going to try mentioned in the book.

Updated version
This is an updated, more advanced version of "Spirit Communication" and it is well worth the read (even if you have the earlier edition) as this version has much more information. As with all of Bucklands books it is very easy to understand. I have used some of his methods in spirit communication with great success! I would highly recommend this (or any book written by Raymond Buckland) to anyone ethier new to the Craft or a long time practioner like myself.

Catalogue of divination methods
I was disappointed by this. I had hoped for a fuller explanation of the seance method but it is basically just a listing of divination methods ranging from ouija boards and pendulums to tarot and runes. I actually sent it back for a refund as it was pretty shallow, a page or two on each topic and introductory at best. Buckland is famous for his 1970s works on witchcraft, worth a look if that's your direction, but this seems to be a quickly produced sparetime effort. The pretty cover is the best thing about it, if that's not too harsh.
